In keeping with this week's focus on pushing through mental barriers and embracing discomfort on the erg, I decided to wrap up my hard sessions for the week with an ambitious "30r20", especially since I left a lot in the tank my first time attempting one last month. 30 minutes at no higher than 20 strokes per minute. ~600 strokes -- pull as hard as you can!

Way to go! I find it really helpful to watch the seconds. If you're taking strokes at :00, :57, :54, :51, and so forth, then you're on track for 600 even without the stroke counter.

Thanks! 🙏 That's a great suggestion, although I'm not sure I've got the mental capacity yet to stay that focused on the clock for that long, that closely... something to work towards!

Fantastic session! I’ve been meaning to set a baseline with this workout, this video might have bumped me over the jump.

Thanks! 🙏 The 30r20 might be my new favorite erg test, just because of the simplicity/savagery of it. ~600 strokes. Pull as hard as you can. Definitely give it a try if you haven't yet, and good luck! 💪
