To be fair Traveler and Kachina along with Maviuka can fill her up as well...not sure if people really want to use Kachina though and as for Pyro traveler I've yet to finish the 5.3 story so don't have access to him to stat whether he's worth dropping Dendro from him for Pyro yet or not...granted if you don't have any other Natlan unit then you're stuck with just Kachina and Maviuka to fed her burst until you unlock Pyro Traveler/get another Natlan unit. Quite frankly these banners should've been Kachnia and Ororon (push him back to now I guess or just immediately re-run him) or another new 4* Natlan unit alongside Kachina if not Ororon should've been released this patch either with Lanyan or without her (they easily could've added 1 more new character if they wanted to...in particular a new 4* dendro, healer or dendro healer would've been nice for my account).

Only reason to skip units for her is if you are pulling cons. If you are pulling cons you don't need natlan units. If you just pull on random banners and don't have coherent teams then you don't care about abyss anyway. Even a budget mavuika team is gonna destroy abyss.

I think people just angry how greedy they are to realise two, very anticipated and synergistic, 5* in one Banner cycle BEFORE they give out the free extra primogems from the big flagship event. It is just very blatant.

Kinda had pretty crazy luck (my luck is usualy pretty bad). With 20 wishes, I got both Citlali and Mavuika. Originally I planned going for Mavuika. I got her in first ten pull (I had high pity and guaranteed). And later I just did one ten pull for fun, and I got citlali. Prolly now ill be saving for either Wriothesley rerun or Nahida (this vegetable escaped from my grasp 3 times already).

4:00 People sleep *a lot* on Kachina C1. It pulls Crystallize shards when mounting/dismounting. And using Burst _counts_ as mounting/dismounting. That means a free *non-clunky* Archaic Petra Buff. Which leaves a free slot for ANY other Nightsoul Character (Traveler too) to hold the Scroll Set. If you ever get to C6 Kachina, you can actually go full crystallize investment to get a Shielder/Buffer. Because that constellation means losing a shield more often than not generates another shard right beside you.

@@Sable813 Yes. I actually use it on my Mualani Xilonen team. Mualani NA, Xilonen skill (Burst is not necessary here). Kachina Skill Burst picks up the shard. Currently Dehya is the 4th slot, probably going to change it to Pyro MC if it works. (AKA, lore purposes) I'm no sweaty theorycrafter, but the extra Geo app helps get rid of the extra Hydro and triggers Dehya Pyro app. Geo Resonance is nothing to scoff at and Interruption Res and shields from the crystallize shards (I got lucky C6 Kachina on release) are big QoL.

Another thing you can do with c1 Kachina is dismount then swap to a character holding petra, so you could have both Kachina solo Natlan and solo geo, while getting scroll and petra with a magnet

Gonna be honest...the only reason I don't use her is I just don't like using loli characters...no other real reason...only one I do use is Nahida and that's only cause she's the archon and busted to a stupid degree and one of the only good dendro dps off field units in the game along with emilie (really wish those leaked designs were real or they just went with her looking like Rukkadevatta instead as she'd be the best looking archon if they did imo...well female archon (best looking is still Zhongli (as is best looking male character)).

These banners are actually really great for me and right now I have a little more than you bought saved up so 5.3 is draining all my primos, I got lucky with my last few characters and weapons and have been saving since Fontaine, I can use cons for everyone except Kachina so I’m incredibly hyped

It was only by chance that I had around 100 pulls saved up before this banner AND had guarantee at 70 pity. I lost my 5050 on both the Mualani and Xilonen banners and decided not to swipe on Xilonen banner (after already swiping around $30 for it) when I only reached 70 pity before the banner ended. The stars aligned for me so I was able to get Mavuika & Citlali with the capturing radiance system but it's definitely a scummy move by Hoyoverse because most people wouldn't have been in my position. The same can be said about Chronicled Wish, they announce that way too late for anyone to have saved up unless they were skipping a lot in hopes of a rerun for an older character like Shenhe.

I mean...does that really change much even with how it's always been? Most people likely only pull on the first day of the banner releasing or the last for both phases of the character...so that's about 4 days in the 40+ day patch that pulling is even relevant for the vast amount of players...putting both at the start and having it occur all banner won't really change much as you're spending 90% of the patch not even pulling to begin with. Makes more sense to just have one or two multiple re-run phases for people that want to get characters they missed out on (hell rather than 2 phases they could easily do a trio of different re-runs each week (HI3rd does that on top of making many characters part of the permanent banner)). Content wise the only decent thing is the story which can be done in just a few hours for 99% of all quests...most of the rest of the content we get are recycled events or the same end game content as we've always had (abyss and theater...and if you like it the card game I guess) and nothing really new (hell I've suggested adding a new equipment type that you get by doing a maze end game mode multiple times and to this day it gets ignored, said equipment would increase things like elemental resistances or give some effect not in the game right now or give some of the rare stats or you'd get some slots on it where you get things like orbs (with stats or effects (say increase in burn damage/time, HP or energy auto regen by say 1 to 5% every few seconds, and stuff like that)) from chests in the dungeon when you reach certain checkpoints/the end (say the final chest has the one random of the rarest of said orbs) that you freely slot in as you please to build your ideal 6th equipment and have said mazes be randomly chosen from a list of about 40 different map layouts that had specific enemies and traps in each map (and add more in later updates) to give some variety to them (if i thought they could do randomly generated too I'd say that over static maps with set enemies/traps/etc but I don't think GI's team would be able to do it well tbh). The ideal is basically something along the lines of a treasure hunter/Indiana jones style mode which would be something a bit different than just the combat events (granted will have that too of course and probably a boss near the end) but it'd let the player use the exploration aspect of the game more in an end game mode).

3:14 - 3:25 THIS, LITERALLY THIS! i had 470 pulls before i wished on citlali and mavuika's banner and i managed to pull them both within 160 wishes and now i still have 310 for my boy wriothesley for whenever he gets his rerun, and by the time his banner likely comes around i might have enough to guarantee him, his c1 and his weapon, which i would've definitely spent like upwards of £100 for if i had lost on mavuika's and citlali's banners. im usually so unlucky (full pity, lose 50/50, full pity again) which is why i plan out my pulls to a crazy extent (though i am a victim of impulse lmao, have two characters i regret because i pulled for them on a whim) and im on a 4 50/50 win streak which is CRAZY for me, longest ive had before this is 2 and that streak has only happened twice since 3.2 when i started. 50/50s make or break up to 6 months of savings

This game is ridiculous. I throw 70 wishes on weapon banner, get citlalis weapon after losing 50/50. I throw 50 more wishes on citlali banner and get her too. I think I am done. Waiting for a better pyro archon. My furina, xilonen and citlali team are ready for the true pyro archon to show up.

Arlecchino is good with those two. Arlecchino would appreciate Citlali's shield and cryo application to melt. Xilonen's buffs are also really good and even better if you have her C2. Arlecchino is also just much more fun than Mavuika imo. Mavuika was honestly pretty mediocre with a boring and disappointing playstyle. They could've honestly made her better but they fumbled SOOOO hard.

I think it depends on what they will do after this, since tbf realistically even if they put citlali 2nd phase most f2p/light spender still have to pick either one unless you already prepared for both or get lucky either way so I think people are judging this too fast/harshly, now to be clear I am not defending what they are doing I also like it if they pace it out each phase, but the question now is why? like do they want to do more chronicle banner + faster rerun for new character/the good character (neuvilette/archon)? also if they do make it a full patch banner and they lessen the day to 35 just like zzz would people like it better that way?

Assuming you havent 100 percented all regions have a separate release means increasing your timetable to get both characters. You save for the first then its possible you can pull enough rolls together to get the second. Another 20 days is another 20 pulls (with welkin) plus whatever event is running plus the starglitter store reset plus abyss reset etc.

@@globalelite3042 but thats also assuming if you are very new or havent touch exploration at all which at that point you wont care as much to pull either chara , and if you are f2p/lightspenders older player you actually need to constantly grind exploration unless you skip a lot of chara even with welkin, so if we only count what was given after, we wont have enough to guarantee either even if they pace it out each phase unless we are actually lucky. Guaranteeing both need averagely 140x2 which is 280 and at worst 180x2 or 360 pulls. again I am not defending their decision just being realistic about the pulls.

Most returning players have a few unexplored regions. i stopped playing right after Nilou released and picked up the game just before Xilonens banner ended. Plus the low spender/f2p inherently have to skip a lot of banners and be selective about the charcters they pull. Youre goal is both characters guaranteed and while its not possible to Guarantee both you have a better chance across a longer timetable since youre likely coming in with pulls saved if you wanted both and if you get one you can start saving for the other for a longer amount of time

The weapon banner strategy isn't about avoiding getting another standard weapon. It's about having 50% chances to get guaranteed to have only 1 copy of both weapons and 50% chances to have to go through another 37.5/62.5. When you don't do the strat, you have 100% chances of having to go through another 37.5/62.5

I like having both new characters immediately, because I would never have pulled for Mauvika if Citlali’s banner was later, since I like Citlali more. Didn’t end up mattering much since I lost 50/50 for both, so I’m not getting Mauvika anyway, but at least I had the chance. But having both banners run for six weeks would definitely be the best scenario.

9:39 If you get standard and cancel then set to weapon A, you’re guaranteed to get weapon A or B. It’s only if you get weapon B that your next weapon is guaranteed to be the epitomized path one (aka weapon A). But if you get weapon A after setting to A, won’t you still need to do epitomized path again for weapon B (aka risking a standard weapon again)? Was curious so I did the math. Resetting gives you a 68.75% chance to get both in 3 5 stars and 31.25% chance to get both in 4 5 stars. Not resetting gives you a 37.5% chance to get both in 3 5 stars and 62.5% chance to get both in 4 5 stars. So yeah, although not guaranteed to not get a standard weapon again, it’s more likely you get the other weapon sooner. May the odds be ever in your favour.

To answer your question: I had been saving for about two months, and was able to get Mavuika c1, Citlali c0, and 120 pity on the weapon banner before I ran out of wishes. I get welkins, and I picked up the last two battle passes as an early holiday present for myself, so I’m not exactly free to play, but not a huge spender - I’m a relatively new player, so a lot of it came from exploring Inazuma & Sumeru. I do kind of regret it now. I had to skip Xilonen and Chasca, which didn’t feel great, and Mavuika’s on field playstyle strikes me kind of clunky and awkward (though her off-field mode is way better and more comfortable than the rumours had led me to believe, especially at c1). I’m also a bit worried about the future banners, because I still want weapons for both Mavuika and Citlali, but I also want to try for at least one Arlecchino if I can, and apparently Furina’s coming soon afterwards. Let alone potential reruns for Xilonen and Chasca so I can make up for missing them the first time…

Sorry for the long comment like this but I wanted to make a point on your ramble of the double new Character banner. Now before you read the whole thing: TL;DR The new character double banner was made because of 2 possible reason: -Mihoyo Genshin devs are trying to fix their timeline so they cramped a lot of things in this patch. -This patch is Mihoyo's attempt of experimenting on whether the double new characters banners is a good thing or not.

Long Version: I do understand on your frustration and the comparison on the double banners on the zzz game. I agree on your point on both cases and would like to add an additional info. So, let's address the zzz banners first, and yes I agree on why it's good because it lets you have those two Harumasa and Miyabi banner for the whole patch. Which means, more time for players to choose on pulling + gathering materials + testing out both units. Plus, you can get Harumasa for free so we can evaluate that this patch was well planned and balanced. Now for Genshin, I agree with the problems you've stated on the time of the banners not lasting for one patch and may look greedy as there's a huge chronicle rerun banner on the next patch after this. You and I can agree that while the patch may look very good because it's full of content, but in actuality it's too cramped. I have 2 theories on why this happened by the way but it's all speculation on my part based on my own observation, so please take it with a grain of salt. Here it goes: 1. Schedule fixing: The reason why the patch is so cramped is that the whole Genshin dev team has been trying to catch up with their own timeline after a huge slip back in 2022. So, if you remember back then, after the Chasm quest there is an Ayaka banner that stayed up way over it's runtime. It was already confirmed that the banner stayed up because of another Covid outbreak in Shanghai back then, where the devs can't go back to the Mihoyo Office to work on the game. (AFAIK, this only affected the Genshin team back then and Honkai Impact 3rd team was not affected because their timeline was pretty much already finished for part 1). Now, the biggest 2 "evidence" I can make to prove this theory is the discrepancies of the Akitau Kimodameshi patch + event (a Halloween themed patch but released in December) and the north Sumeru region being empty or even retconned. You can also add the problem of reruns (Wrio when) for many characters which results in the chronicle banner (which still has it's problems). Now, if this patch is the only time where 2 new characters are introduced in a double banner, it would validate this theory. 2. Experimentation: The other argument is that the scheduling problems I've addressed above is already fixed and this whole patch is Mihoyo experimenting if this new characters double banner is profitable or not. If they like it' they will do it again. This might also be one of the new management (Da Wei's team) pitch to try and freshen up Genshin as it has multiple rival gacha games today.

I'm a welkin moon and battle pass player and I had to skip every Natlan 5* except Xilonen and I also pulled for Neuvilette. I'm glad I saved up and was able to get both Citlatli C0 and Mavuika C0.

I managed to get Citlali in four ten pulls. I haven’t pulled for a character since Mualani came out (and I got her on my first ten pull), and I got Citlali without the special mechanic. While Mavuika is cool and all, I've been waiting for Clorinde's rerun since I had to skip her for Furina. Beint disciplined and pacient with wishes can be annoying, but the reward is worth it.

As a F2P, I hadnt pulled since Furina Rerun I saved 40k primos in that time, but therefore couldnt pull on Xilonen either In the end, this came out to 240 raw wishes and I had 55 Pity ahead of time I had to spend 190 of these wishes, because I had to go to pity for everything and lost 1 50/50 along the lines I got Mavuika & Citali both, with about 80 wishes remaining for Shenhe (from starglitter and remaining primogems) All in all, I really wish they wouldn't stuff the banner like that :( Also wish Citlali or Mavuika were second half so I wouldve had a chance to pull Lanyan constellations A bit sad on how much I've had to invest, but I'm enjoying Mavuika & Citlali so far, Exploration has been great! However, given all I've had to skip to obtain it, I'm just a little bummed :D

Can't wait for Citlali to never rerun especially because she released with the Pyro archon so people are more likely to choose Mavuika, and it'll be like "Wow look, Citlali made no money" o7 Genuinely don't understand why both new 5 stars are first half of the patch, aside from "How do we squeeze water from the stones in our player's wallets?" I was F2P for a year or a bit longer.I was lucky in my draws and had no problem saving up until I lost my first 50/50 then I played a lot to get lucky 50/50 last day of the banner. After that it was always hard to save up in time also when the wast majority of the quests end exploration were done. Then started skipping banners (Nahida both times for expl.). I started to buy Welkin moon. And when I saw that Nuvi and Zhongli I spent 170€ for all the genesis for the first time. I drew my C1 Nuvi got the Zhongli got Mavuika and Citlali for that price. I am happy but I have 0 pulls available also never in my life spent that kind of money on a game. So they got me! But I was successful and lucky. So basically it's possible to be F2P but it's getting harder and harder with this type of new character double banners!

i lucked out so bad- i had around 30 pity when i started to pull for mavuika and i got her at 31, then i got citlali weapon at 8 pity, mavuika’s at 30 (guaranteed), then citlali at 25ish pity (capturing radiance). so total i only spent around 60 pulls i honestly wouldnt have pulled for citlali if i didnt get her weapon, i was just planning to snatch mavuika and arle haha, i have like 70 pulls left

Like have all 4 banners for the 40 days at the same time. I really want Shenhe, so i took a risk on Mavuika after getting Citlali. Fortunately i got her early at 30 pity. But I would have went for Shenhe after citlali first, and Mavuika if i had left over.

Personally I don't think this is permanent it does seem that Genshin is taking inspiration from the other Hoyo titles in a bad way but realistically if your F2P you weren't going after several On Fielder's in a row There tactics have become more agreesive. Like ZZZ churning out synergistic units one after another HSR and there current 8 Banner nonsense that people are praising (like there basically selling people whole teams) I've noticed that the supposed QOL all come at a cost. The Weapon Banner was a scam but they get both praise for coping the HSR system but also get to entice more players into rolling on state sticks and less on playstyles It feels like someone who was keeping the experience balanced got fired and now where pushing things like Powercreep into overdrive I half expect some new Endgame like in HSR that is basically a derivative of Abyss but will get praised because "it's better then nothing" Then they'll push the power budget and slowly warm up people into feeling like they need more cons or weapons I'm usually not cynical but it's not really this Banner but the small additions that feel like your typical Gacha traps Which is a shame because Genshin got its reputation from being above that stuff it was still predatory but very transparent and still let you exist outside the gacha nonsense In 6 months I for see the 3 major Hoyo games being more or less structured the same.

Apparently he doesn't realize as a streamer he can write these spending things off on his taxes as a work expense in order to create content. Being a streamer is like owning your own business where you get to write certain business expenses off as a necessary business purchase, just like buying your CEO a business phone for the purpose of making sure they are always available. Expenses that come out of your pocket can be written off personally. I'm not an attorney or tax expert, so look into the details for yourself, but you can write some of these expenses off.

My first five star on this banner was Diluc, then Mavuika. I got the shining radiance mechanic while pulling for Citlali. I'm actually mad I was about to lose the 50/50 AGAIN and was only saved by the radiance. I've never had a string of wins as often as or as long as my strings of losses before. C0 is probably where I stop for Mavuika and Citlali on this occasion. Maybe on a rerun I'll try for C1 or C2. If only Chasca hadn't cost me so many pulls; I lost the 50/50 on her too. I didn't even want her, just her flying ability.

Kinda mad Citlali and Mavuika are in the same half, while I know Mavuika will rerun soon, being an archon, I want her and her c1 but I’m also saving for other characters and want/need them more. be me: f2p so I've been super lucky. had saved 405 wishes (33 pity included in there) so i went for it. at 85 i got a 5 star. pretty late... it was mona. at 19 mavuika came. so then i went for citlali. at 69 another 5star, citlali came. 5050 won. after that i decided i wanted to try the weapons. but kill keep writing the char pulls since im already in that screen. at 2 another 5 star. mavuika. 5050 won. at 54 another mavuika, 5050 won. at 65 citlali. 5050 won. pretty damn lucky. weapons went as follows: 63, mavuikas weapon, whatever 5050 so, i won. 48, citlalis weapon, won the 5050 or so again. that was insane

uhh... that's definitely not possible for a late game f2p. When you have everything explored but the new region, we're usually max 110 wishes and that's a generous patch like anniversary. I think I had around 85 wishes in 5.2. without welkin or bp. Just trying to give you context of why it's not possible for some people.

Gonna be honest...if they had held off on Ororon and put him here instead of Kachina or some other new 4* Ntalan character it would've been better (would've made sense to put him here with Citlali or Citlali in last patch tbh). I wound up getting both of them but lost the 50/50 once and had to go to pity for the 2 times I won (the one up to losing 50/50 thankfully was 25 to 35 pulls after Citlali (got first as Maviuka will probably be out before Natlan ends like most archons in their series of patches). Had to use almost everything for it though as i had 28k primos, 16 int fates, and used 5 more glitter instead of primos to get the other 5 after 1 pull to turnt hat 16 int fates into 21 int fates (the 1 int fate pull by itself then 2 10 pulls). Didn't bother with the weapon banner due to having nothing left...as for weapons I went with the 4* Natlan craftable claymore for Maviuka as it has an effect that activates based off applying pyro and then I used the sacrificial fragments (think that's what one I used...the one with em and can recharge e skill) which actually is probably more useful for her than people may first think only due to the fact C0/no limited 5* weapon for her only allows 1 use of her e-skill to recharge about half of her nightsoul points and since her e skill's attacks only activate when nightsoul is over 50 (should be always active imo...don't know why the testers didn't complain enough about that as that's what I'm mainly using her for along with the pryo/hydro buff...the shield is nice too I guess but not too amazing either) the 2nd e skill being recharged can make it easier to fully fill up her nightsoul points with 2 eskills (if you get the recharge) and a burst and obviously her e skill scales off EM so it's a plus for that.

Before Citlali goes into Cryo jail, we may be getting slammed from all the Cryo characters going on parole. Unless you got lucky, you have to swipe to get both Shenhe and Ganyu. Then again if Wriothesley comes out in 5.4. And if Ayaka and/or Eula come out in 5.5….

I went a little crazy when I got lucky on Chasca's banners and now I'm considering spending my Christmas money on Shenhe since I'd love her C2 and I doubt she'll ever run again 😭 I was counting on her running *before* chronicle wish, didn't think hoyo would change their own rules just to include her 😒 I want Mavuika but I know they'll run her again this year (as they do with every archon) and I don't actually like Citlali so I was planning to skip her anyway. I'm a budget player, welkins and BP but will splurge on special occasion/favorite characters. So far that's only been Ayaka ($45 last Christmas) but I'm prepared to spend more for Shenhe. I skipped every other Natlan character because I knew Chasca was my favorite. As far as hoyo running two new 5 stars who work well together at the same time, I think it's not a good decision and expect more people to skip Mavuika's first run and wait for her re-run

Then I wasn't impressed by Chasca, so the only reason I had pulled was to get Sethos, and then to risk Chasca and see if i could get Ororon. (I did not) So I went into these banners with 73 pity and over 100 wishes, lol. I got Mavuika in a ten pull, and then got the special animation for Citlali. So I actually did skip most of the Natlan characters and end up with the best teammates for her, lmao.
