We also have lots of German colonies here in Paraguay and we always though they were kinda weird. I mean, i've been in Germany before and the people is awesome there! But you can easily tell that the ones in the southamerican colonies are different and that they are hiding something. Also they would never merge with southamericans. I was told that they reproduce themselves within cousins. They are very very rich and they live in the country side with their fancy technology. Ocasionally they would come to town to buy expensive electronic stuff and then they'll just go back to their colonies. As a southamerican, it's really awesome to hear about this topic in such a popular show! Oh and btw, Menguele also lived here in my country.

When I was in Jr. High, I lived on an Air Force Base in Germany and had an older German woman for a teacher. She would tell us stories of being a young girl during WWII and I could tell that there was a degree of pride and nostalgia mixed with shame and remorse when she spoke, but she put a very human spin on what it was to have lived through that period.

You also have to ask yourself why is it that every single country Jewish people have tried settling since the beginning of time they have been expelled with force. Literally for thousands of years every country have forcefully expelled them, it's not a matter of if... it's when... why is that? Are all those countries antisemitic, were Ancient Egyptians antisemitic, were Russians several hundred years ago antisemitic?

I experienced something similar to you. The family I learned from. Showed me how they “lost” their country to ideologies. So now. When I see people running for POTUS in todays elections. I can’t help but hear the same thing as how hitler got the party to agree. And then the people cheer. I hear similar statehood speeches, national security speeches, and immigration speeches. All used by Hitler to gain favor enough to have the same power as a POTUS. just listen to the trigger words from politicians. Then listen ti the people cheering. Now you will see how Hitler got into power

If anyone is interested in knowing more, I can ask him and I’d be happy to get back to you guys .

When I was in high school (in New Jersey over a decade ago) I tried to befriend this new kid from Chile. We sat next to each other, so we started talking and pretty soon I was like “Dude, you sound a lot more German than you do Chilean to me.” He smiled, looked around and over his shoulder, and then leaned closer to me and said “you know, you’re pretty smart, are you sure you’re an American?” I replied that I was, and he told me his great grandfather was from Germany. Me being the history nerd I am, particularly with regard to WW2 i had my suspicions. So I pressed him for details and assured him it would stay between the two of us. He reluctantly went on to tell me how his great-grandfather was a card carrying Nazi and member of the SS apparently. He confirmed it a short while later, when he brought some Nazi memorabilia and old family photo’s to school to show me. He was pretty proud of the whole thing, the way Americans are proud of their grandparents for fighting the nazis. I still find it hard to believe that he and his family made it from Germany to Chile to suburban New Jersey of all places. Just goes to show that your neighbor, classmate or coworker could be a Nazi descendant or sympathizer and most people would have no idea.

He was very kind and lost his whole family in the war. It was kind of sad because he didnt belonged with this "colonies" of german people because he always served as a guard or a soldier so he became part of the gauchos, and farmers. Ever since I was a young boy (around 4/5) and was first made aware of the World war 2, it took a strong grip on my young Autistic brain. The thought that there was a War involving so many nations with so so many casualties around 55 years before I was born was always insane to me. Since then, I’ve always been gripped on learning more on this war and what happened around the world during the aftermath of this war. The amount of things that we were never told, and possibly this is to hide the truth but this could also be people trying to understandingly trying to forget what happened. I’m always finding out new facts about this war to this day… I’m always watching documentaries or professional historians talk about this and it gives you a lot more information and perspective from all sides of the battles. So many unforgivable things done by so many nations including the allies. But the Nazis (specifically SS) were a different breed, pure evil, strong, high on amphetamines and other stimulants all the time. The standard German soldier, that had no choice but to fight for their demented leader, those are the ones who I hold sympathy in my heart for. A lot of the (Non-Nazi/Non-SS) German population had it so bad after the war, in their eyes they had to fight or meet the firing squad. They fought, lost families, friends and homes and then their country was Split up and controlled by the victor. Now I’ve said all of this, I find it disgusting that the most evil managed to flee away and not face any punishments for what they have done and even worse, continue to be evil. All whilst the German soldiers that didn’t want to war had to pay the price. I’ve heard a lot about German colonies in South America, but this video has taught me a lot more than I what I thought was going on there. The power and influence they hold in these areas is shocking and to think how many families are living off of that stolen Nazi wealth to this day! Really interesting video and I thought I would just give my take on this. May have took a while to get to my point, but with my Autism I had to say what was on my brain and how my own mind personally interprets this interesting and sad side of history. I know some people may not have any sympathy for any Germans that fought between 39-45 and I can understand that completely. As a War nerd I will happily accept some other people opinions and interpretations on this topic or the Second World War in general. Peace.

Colonia Dignidad existed at the time of the Pinochet regime. Look at wikipedia. Paul Schäfer, the founder of the nazi-esque cult was most likely an escaped KZ security guard. He was also pedophil. The colony was a private pedophil country club for him secured like detention camp. The survivors are highly traumatized. Watch "The colony" with Daniel Brühl and you can get a lighter version of the colony. In reality it was much worse.

@@bushwhakked Yeah, I'm ready to listen to their stuff, not to be too sure I already 'know it all'. But so far the conspiracists reveal pretty soon to have holes in their theories. They are just so convinced by a few whispers of alternative explanations. Very often there is the fear behind it, that what about if 'the bastards' have lied to us. Won't say they haven't, to a degree. But most great evets in history have so much evidence. From many sources. Which doesn't stop from future generatio denying them. Like people won't to deny ugly truths about their own nation. Some Russians/Soviets want to deny or belittle the bad Stalin did. (Neo-)Nazis try to deny the Holocaust, and put all the bad in the wold on the neck of the international Jewish conspiracy. And when the generation who went through the war have mostly died out, the deniers have lifted up their voices. USA has it's own skeletons, but there's still much honesty around of their past. If somebody wants to listen. But I'm quite curious, how many men in high positions have gone through the Skulls & Bones in their study years. There's a bunch of them.

@Altus Snow You have very black and white thinking. We let in a small percentage of bad people, after helping to stop the mass slaughter of jews and bringing the Third Reich down. Those people helped our country. I suggest you do some reading on Niccolo Machiavelli. The ends justify the means. It helped our country advance so it was the right thing to do. You can't avoid evil or doing business with evil people in the world. You minimize it. And that's it. Beyond that, if they are useful in reaching your goals, which are good, then it is justified. Furthermore, the Soviets were scooping them up right and left. So that would have left us at a disadvantage against a tyrannical Stalinist state. Not a good thing. It was the right thing to utilize them. Its like when you cut a deal with a mob guy. He's a scumbag, but for the greater good of bringing down the whole organization or getting the top guys, he walks. And its the right thing to do. THe ends always justify the means. In all cases. In everything in life. And who cares if the US Government is "corrupt"? You are directly benefiting from that? So unless you are willing to give up your lifestyle, you are complicit and are no better.

They certainly weren't once the war started. Why do you fuckin' care if Hitler was on the cover of Time magazine in the 30's? Krupp Steel the company he was trying to think of around the 9 Minute mark it's krupp steel always known to circles of folks of my family tree of the Austrian Krupps and I've studied extensive German military history and that's a name you don't forget. So even when he couldn't get it correct I knew immediately what company he was talking about most of those German battleships during both world wars arms foundries tanks Krupp was pretty prominent in their development I don't really feel like the company had a choice once Hitler's rise to power was cemented there was nothing they could.

@@michelledreyer8147 I could see that yeah I think once their acquisition by thessyntin I think whatever prominence or old strategies that had been long proven were hollowed out my understanding is krup had a very rich set of traditions going back almost 500 years and still Manufacturing and then World War II occurs and suddenly the company has to ditch a lot of the common sense that acquired over the previous centuries and generations agenda 2 2030 it sounds yet more like more corporate brownie points than an actual strategy I just feel that environmental issues and concerns are one thing but you can't argue them from a corporate model ultimately companies have to be profitable in order to be successful and maybe one day krupp will be a innovator and leader again in the arena of Steel once we start building actual Starships :-)

@@rebelwithin4527 Yeah, that really floored me. Ideas are not tangible things that can be killed, and even through force they can't be entirely phased out; e.g.-McCarthyism vs. communism, how well did that turn out? The fact that this guy thinks ideas can be destroyed leads me to believe that he has authoritarian leanings. No one has the right to police others' thoughts and certainly not to impose their will on others, no matter how much you disagree with them.

He didn't say by using force there, stop assuming, guys. Feeling a desire to hurt someone that hurts weaker people and does evil things is natural and I am very much like that too. But that doesn't mean I think this is the way to cure the decease. These ideas can be killed only by education. For every fucked up bold head Nazi guy there a Daryl Davis. Well, maybe not for everyone. Some people can't be redeemed. Like Josef Mengele. His own son treated him like an unrepentant Nazi and he was like that probably up to his death.

Those communities aren't going away anytime soon. Theres a similar situation over in Brazil, after the American Civil War a group of southerners fled to Brazil (where slavery was legal) and settled in the São Paulo region. To this day, nearly 200 years later, the descendants of the American settlers called Confederados have an annual festival celebrating the Confederacy and 19th century American culture
