• How To READ To Toddler...
Hats can help your toddler learn HUNDREDS of words.
You don't need fancy toys, flashcards, or apps to help your toddler learn to talk.
Use things you already have around your house.
This video is an at-home toddler learning activity. I share how hats helps toddlers learn new vocabulary.
Hey! I’m Adrienne, Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist from LearnWithAdrienne.com and you want to help your child:
☀️communicate clearly
☀️listen well
☀️gain life skills
Speech and language strategies used in this video:
☀️verbal routines
☀️modeling
☀️labeling
☀️nouns, verbs, adjectives
☀️repetition
☀️sensory exploration
☀️joint attention
In my KZbin videos, I teach a variety of strategies to help children learn to talk, but in my online class for children, I teach much more in-depth, revealing the actual step-by-step system I use with my own speech therapy clients to get them from saying only a handful of words to talking in sentences and having conversations. My online class is structured with checklists and printouts where you can track your child's progress.
So zooming out, my KZbin videos teach the “what” and my online class teaches the “how.” The goal of the online class is to give you the skills needed to plug in the speech strategies into your daily life with your child and to implement the building blocks, strategies, and concepts during meal time, car riding time, play time, outdoor time, etc.
Here is more info about the class so you can see if it would be a good fit for what you are looking for with your child:
The Steps to Help Your Child Learn To Talk: www.learnwithadrienne.com/ste...
P.S. For safety, always fully supervise your child when doing activities that I recommend in my videos.
Video Description: How do I get my toddler to follow directions, to obey, to listen to me? In this video Adrienne, a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who works in Early Intervention, shares tips for getting toddlers to learn new vocabulary. Using simple toddler activities, parents, caregivers, teachers, and speech-language pathologists can learn how to help your toddler talk more and understand more language so that they can communicate better. These tips are helpful so that they will be prepared and ready for preschool, kindergarten, and life beyond the classroom. These tips are strategies for parents, caregivers, grandparents, babysitters, childcare professionals, and speech therapists that you can apply right away with your toddler. Strategies include: following directions, comprehension, repetition, colors, vocabulary expansion, verbal routines, and prepositions.

I had to stop the video to try the first hat activity and my children loved it! They don't want to stop! My son was really engaged (I think the sneezing did the trick) which is a first, so I am excited to learn more ways to help my children. Thank you!😀

@@abhiam18 He is three now, and the words that we have consistently practiced (up, down, open, more) he is more willing to say them. We are up to repeating two words (open door) , so it's def an improvement but we still have a lot of work to do. We just take it one day at a time.

@@sleevetruth5164 thanks for your reply mam. Highly appreciated. My boy is not chewing food.....he simply swallows & so his muscles are not in a movement.....he got his first tooth in 15-16 month. And so he chose to swallow food. I consulted an Indian phycologist, who said he has to chew his food. And she too gave us cheek & lip exercise. Hope this helps in saying words.

Thanks for the suggestion. My videos exist to help YOU be creative and expand on my ideas. If your child has already mastered in/out, I recommend looking up prepositions and you'll have a list of other words to use in activities: above across along among around as at before behind below beneath beside besides between beyond by down following for from in inside into like near of off on onto opposite outside over past plus round since than through to toward towards under underneath unlike until up with within without
