6:24 it’s not a random chance, you can pull bombchu by holding the button as apposed to tapping it, and it has a brief cooldown before you can use it again (the cooldown ending is signified by a yellow spark effect)

honestly, i remember thinking in the shower how sick it would be if dark samus had a move where she plunged her hand into the ground to make a bunch of phazon tentacles pop up. it was something she could do in sm4sh as an assist trophy so to see HDR bring that move into reality is the "leo decaprio pointing" meme for me

​​​@@Yoshizuyuner Man. Plenty of clones in other games have been afterthoughts. Just look at the Tekken Tag 2 roster with 54 characters. And even the most clones of clones in that game have more differences than half the Echo fighters. (I'm talking like 2 different moves maximum which is at least SOMETHING) Like I get they were supposed to be minimal effort. And I have no issue with most of them. Lucina, Chrom, and Dark Pit are fine. Ken is pretty much perfect. But would it had kill them to give Daisy, Richter, and Dark Samus at least one single difference? Like nothing crazy. Like literally a single minute change in two moves just like Dark Pit. Daisy and Dark Samus are even more confusing when Custom Moves were a thing on the previous game so they already had animations and data they could reuse.

It's stable now, I have Ult on my laptop. Only downside is that some shaders don't save for some reason (first Link downb per session is a big example but there aren't actually many instances of this).

If you're an hdr fan, I have another smash "project" (it only requires vanilla, but uses stages and spirits to create an entirely different experience) called cactus melee. Totally worth checking out. It's more for fun than an entirely serious revamp, but the creator does consider it a better game than reg, so do w/ that what you will.

I really liked playing HDR at first, but as I got more into it I disliked the fact that it tried too hard to be like project M/melee. It reverted some of ultimates fun moves and mechanics simply for the sake of doing so. The clone characters are an exception to that statement though.

It's all based on opinion. Really, I like that HDR takes some of PM/Melee's aspects and tries it out in the engine of ult but its not like they don't add new stuff to make characters more fun and interesting sonic, parying, movement changes I feel like its just trying to be more than the "PM for ultimate" but thats my perspective

That is the entire point wow. They added them because it was easy to do not because they were trying to trick you into thinking they would be actual characters. Most of them can't because they don't have the necessary computer skills, but some people can, as evidenced by this mod

To be fair I can see daisy doing that but not as good to peach. Daisy in Mario lore has stated she has magic related to flowers but since she's more athletic than magic based compared to peach. But that's my speculation.

Every change looks perfect, looks like they succeeded in making a much better game than Ultimate (Ultimate's great but obviously "improving everything" makes it better) They couldn't fix landing detection though? It still looks like they land with their feet instead of their shins making landings still look slightly awkward since most chars squat while landing (clearly huge improvement on directional air-dodges though; I wonder how the original devs missed that)

HDR as a mod is pretty dogshit but i do think *some* of the changes in it are really neat. Dark samus being turned into more of a trapper character is really sick and while I dislike the direction my mains (Ryu and Ken) went, I can appreciate the effort.

Technically they're not considered echo fighters, probably because they were grandfathered in from earlier games. If you notice, they are not placed next to their clone character on the roster like other echo fighters. Same with Young Link I think
