The emperor reminds me of dark souls story. A dude who oppressed and prolongs a broken system just for his own benefit. Destroying natural order to prolong his structures. Imagine had he not done what he has done. You'd have trillions of possible of people who could build up a more powerful psyker, but instead they are all oppressed and sacrificed to further the emperor.

Well in this Galaxy Ultramar and Tau Empire is the best places than human can really prosper and thrive. Ultramar and his 500 worlds are de facto a utopian dream of every imperial and the most luckiest are those who live there. Tau Empire offers to humans basically the same and funny enough their water cast propaganda is really not a black delusional propaganda but rarely white one which is very VERY rare thing.

Hahahahaha I love how much this reads like Imperial propaganda. It's a tough pill to swallow, but for all their anime aesthetics and being at odds with the grimdark world of Warhammer 40k, for all the dark shit they DO do, the Tau are by far the most humane and sane faction in this world, and fuck yes I'd abandon believing in some throne-bound corpse fairy while living worse than a snotling my entire (short and miserable) life to be part of a society, even an alien one, that actually values my contribution.

The tau in the Damocles Gulf have a shakey yet legit alliance with the imperium proper in the ciaphas cain books. Mainly to fight the tyranids/genestealer cults. Also both the tau and kroot can speak gothic. The audiobook narrator gives the tau chinese accents lol

Not yet. They still far from Tyranids clutches just yet. Leviathan is concentrating in Pacificus which if succeed can lead to direct Tyranid invasion to Segmentum Solar. Tau Empire is in Ultima Segmentum veery far from battlefield and probably their asses will be covered by Ultramarines and their Ultra Empire

Do they still sterilize humans who join the Tau, or did they change that again? I think kroot are cool on and off the table top, but don't really like the Tau so much. The Farsight Enclaves are a different story. Tau are a faction that some novels show to be "nice" in a not- nice galaxy, and other novels show to have ulterior motives and imply they're as bad as everyone else. The humans who liked the Tau and painted their faces blue and had ponytails who attacked Ciaphis Cain and got waved off by the kroot, that's a funny story. If you're going to betray the imperium, at least with chaos you're still sort of pro humanity.
