Nice to see this level of transparency regarding numbers, and what you're saying about shorts being easier to drive subscriber growth is interesting. I've specifically resisted making any shorts because, frankly, I absolutely hate the format 😅Ultimately if the subscriber growth from it wouldn't benefit my long-form content anyway, there doesn't seem to be much point in it unless you genuinely enjoy doing them. Congrats on having such a good year though, you deserve it!

Appreciate your content and a look behind the scenes. Great that you can make a little money from YT, but at the end of the day it's about the the sim, the community and having fun. I watch your weekly track guides on the Maconi channel to prepare for ARCA each week. The general oval guides (like on tire-saving) really helped me as a newcomer to turning left. I'm not a patreon guy so I don't know how your guides here are different from the Maconi ones, but the Maconi guides are pretty succinct and give me ideas on what I should focus on for each track. Edit to add: I usually don't watch them as soon as they drop, but I really enjoy watching the documentary videos. The Lake Speed doc was what brought me here in the first place. Just watched the Indycar Pro Series doc the other night and it was killer as well

I’ve been watching your channel since you had a few thousand subs (I was big oval guide guy lol) and it’s been great seeing your growth! I’m working on my channel and I don’t think I have much to offer that hasn’t been done before content-wise. But I think I’m a halfway entertaining guy and I like to race at somewhat high level with good people. Even gaining one subscriber makes me happy :)

@@TractionCircleSimRacing Making friends with a lot of old time sim racers for the most part haha. Newer ones just keeping up with the current esports scene. Iracing doesn’t do a great job of marketing their own stories so it kinda leaves room. But there’s always room for well thought out opinions and perspective about sim racing. Why does no one race dirt road anymore? How has iRacing’s tire model changed over the years? What’s some features in LMU that iRacing should add? Etc etc

8:10 Very relatable, I also drive with a normal deskchair and have my T300 mounted on my desk. been driving like this for years and all is good. Only need to really get better pedals then the base Thrustmaster pedals. Might need to put my pedals in a fixed position instead of just on a carpet.

I don't know much about thumbnail work, but in the way that you are niche in iracing, My little thing is that I write marching band shows for a living. And I know when I was studying visual design theory, I came upon the gestalt principles of perception. And I thought they were really foundational to what I do, making a bunch of dots on a field look entertaining and visually easy to perceive from a certain angle. I don't know if there's any parallels at all to trying to create a still image, But it's worth looking into for a minute or two.

I will force it on You :) When You will reach 70k subscribers, You should make documentary about Empty Box. He has 69.6k subs. When You pass the GOAT, you should make video about GOAT. And ask him why number 69 is so important to him (quit YT to keep 69k subs) :) I bet there are at least 5 people who want to watch this documentary
