Take a short course in a nearby college or go to eat in a canteen at any university while inquiring for a suitable course for yourself. There are Thai courses for Foreign students in some universities. You will meet a lot of people who want talk to you and help you with whatever question you may have.

Part of me as an outsider does want to disappear in a sense. BKK having everything I want and I can hide because of the language barrier. But that thought of gym, street food, live music, coffee shop, temple… and truly invisible. 🤔 Content? Would never have considered it! Something to contemplate. Thanks 🙏🏽

Definitely second what you've said here mate. Here's a cringe quote for ya: you don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great! It's so true though! I come at this whole topic from a slightly different angle I think.. I've been in Thailand nearly 18 years. Came when I was 22 as a student, continued as a Christian missionary/volunteer then met my wife. This was all out in Sriracha. So I had no choice but to learn Thai, all my friends were Thai. I integrated as much as I could into the local culture. And because I wasn't getting paid to work in the church, I started creating online content (was blogging, now KZbin) as a way to fund myself. Moved to Bangkok 2 years ago and started meeting fellow farangs for the first time and quickly realised most people's experience of Thailand wasn't like this. They live inside a farang bubble - which I totally get - it is easier. But yeah, solid advice. Forget perfectionism, just pick up your phone, hit record and start talking! Coz you don't know where it might lead.
