Throughout December 2022, I literally fought for my life, but today I stand here before you to share my story of courage and strength.
It has been a long road to recovery and I want to inspire others who are currently in a similar situation.
Join me in this new health talk show “Unclog with Aproko doctor” to share insight into how everyday survivors cope with different health issues and we’re starting with me!
Hear our stories, learn how we found the strength to keep going regardless, and also share in the lessons.
It’s time to experience relatable health journeys from the patient’s perspective.
Stay tuned.

Congratulations Doc. My sister died 9 years ago due to complications from her brain tumour surgery. She was in comma for 2 weeks, lost her sight completely. Two years later, the tumour came back. Radiation and chemotherapy. Second surgery done. A year later, the tumour grew again on the same spot. Both surgeries were done in Norway. Her husband sent her home to Nigeria cos he couldn’t take care of her anymore. She died a year later after she lost her mobility, ability to chew, and became incontinent. Don’t take your miracle for granted. God is on your side. He’s seen your commitment to supporting people all over the world with free medical advice and assistance. God bless you and keep you.

Wow! Wow!! I had to go in for an emergency brain surgery in LUTH due to a brain aneurysm in September. Seeing Dr Ojo in this video just made it all clear as he is a gift to us in Nigeria. He showed me the video of my brain then too. Such an amazing and kind doctor.

@Mactee Macgregor Hi. I wasn't ill prior to my diagnosis. I woke up. Made school lunch for my son, ate and then took a nap. That was all I remember until my husband said I had fainted and rushed me to the hospital. The only thing was when I came to, I had this maddening headache that defied all medicine hence the doctor had me take a brain scan.

I cried watching this video. My sister had a similar experience in 2012 two weeks after giving birth in the US. Hers wasn't brain tumour but inter cranial bleeding caused by elevated blood pressure. The doctors @ the hospital told us it was a miracle she survived because of the extent of the bleeding. Medically, she was supposed to be vegetative but God came through for us. I thank God almighty for using all these wonderful medical personnel to perform the surgery. I am most grateful that you are ok. You are sure coming back stronger in Jesus name amen. Congratulations and happy new year to you. God's purpose for your life will surely come to pass.

I’m teary watching this video because I fought for my life in 2022 and I’m happy I’m here to watch this and you’re alive to tell your story too ,it can only be God ,you never really know who’s next because sickness never announces itself . I had been battling with dysmenorrhea for 11 years and we had gone to so many hospitals to find out what was causing the pain, right from the time I started seeing my period because my dad likes to go to the hospital for the slightest symptom of any illness and it was kind of annoying sometimes …we had been going for test and test but the doctors said I was fine and nothing was wrong the pain would probably subside when I bare my children you know that kind of talk but they had to place me on hard drugs so that I can go about my daily life when I’m on my period not until 2021 when I started losing weight drastically and we didn’t know why my dad was so worried we thought it was something related to ulcer because I had ulcer but it was then in January 2022 I started feeling pains in my right lower a fine and seldomly on my left side we went for test and some said it’s probably Appendix some said something else then we started another series of test I was so carried on many days I had emotional breakdown because I didn’t know what was wrong with me my dad got doctors in other states advice and I was on a lot supplements for 3 months but it was not of any help until a doctor friend of my dad referred us to a specialist diagnosis hospital and series of test was done . While waiting for the test result I was so tensed but I tried not to cry because it was scary then the doctor came and said I had to see a gynecologist urgently that I had an ovarian cyst that at the point of rupturing and it was dangerous and I needed to do a surgery soon because they could feel the mass if you went through my anal cavity. We went to several gynecologist until we settled for the last one and I was scared because at this point the mass had gotten bigger and I was having slight difficulty walking ,laughing or carrying heavy stuff I was scared it was going to be successful or even if it was it was going to be cancerous but I’m honestly so thankful to God I made it through 2022 ,I’ve regained my weight and I’m healthy ,it’s a year I’m forever thankful for 🥺❤️

Thank God it was diagnosed early. My aunt’s friend had to come all the way to the U.S because of constant headache which the cause they were not able to diagnose the cause. By the time she arrived and she did the scan the tumor was already big and was shrinking her brain. They had to completely remove her skull before the surgery and also went for therapy after the surgery cos she could hardly remember things and she was always crying if she needed something but doesn’t know how to express herself. Thank God she is completely fine and back to Nigeria.

The support system is very important both for health and economic issues. I had a major surgery on the 6th of Dec 2021, developed other complications and spent the whole of December in the hospital. My family supported me 💯, infact it was as if everyone did the surgery with me. If there's anything like "next life" I would choose them over and over. Thank God everything went well for you and may you remain in good health 🙏. Congratulations 👏

As a medical student I learn best through the stories and personal connections I get rom others. Now I will probably never forget a craniopharyngioma and most importantly, the patient's experience of the disease- its impact on the patients life. I am also really impressed by such intelligence and development of medicine in (West) Africa. I live in the diaspora and it's so easy to keep to the stereotype that our Homeland countries are still "Developing". Still we rise! We are so glad you are alive and everything worked out. You are strong and brave and I know that last statement was sooo hard to say after what you have been through. You simply opened a new chapter in this book of life and lord of good things are going to happen to you all. Thanks to the medical team and above all, God!

This is so touching 😢but thank God the surgery was successful and you came back healthier. I pray every other person going through such, get healing and help needed. Truly we need a support system no matter our status in life, cos no matter how we try to hide it, we can’t do life alone. Congratulations to you Aproko Doctor 🎉❤

I wouldn’t say I know what it feels like but if I did say that I’m still right and I can tell that I do know what it feels like in every possible way, I put all my emotions in this writing cos I have a sis in this situation for years, we spent so much money, lost our parents in-between the difficult times till we were told it’s a 50/50, she still has tumor in her brain till date and she lost her eyesight over a decade and it really hasn’t bn a very easy journey, everyday I pray that the lord fills her heart with so much joy and happiness that’s beyond human imagination and supersedes all happiness, I pray the lord fills her heart with so much peace and love much more than we show her as we hope a miracle will happen someday😊 I’m happy for you AprokoDoc
