oh my goodness ana I love the sound of your project I'll be patiently waiting once your novel is published, the part where you said you'd love to write a book that feels like listening to Scott street I felt that my current project 'I fell in love with your ghost' which is about a ghost who doesn't know how he died so he makes a deal with a girl who just moved in that he'll move out if she agrees to investigate his passing is basically inspired by three songs cruel summer; you're on your own kid by taylor swift and this side of paradise by the coyote theory

I feel proud and lucky to have found your channel at a time in my life when I didn't know where to go next with my projects. Now I know a lot of things, which I didn't know before and thanks to you, I can organize myself in a much better way. Love your videos

I've shown it to my friends, family, and my teacher, and they all loved it, I wanna get my story out into the world so friggin bad :(

Well said as always , keeping book files safe is a must like any other file , for example Lana Del Rey had her laptop stolen out of her car , the laptop contained all the files to a book that she had written about her life story ,Lana had not backed up anything & the laptop was not recovered , I can't imagine how she must of felt ?. Memory is cheap these days so it's wise to have several back up's.

A tip for you is to self-edit too! At 3:06, you have a piece of dialogue which reads “‘We’re not flirting.’ Red crosses her arms. ‘We aren’t flirting Ned, are we?’” The dialogue doesn’t make sense because of the full stops. You want to join it all together. By rewriting the sentences as you go, it lessens the workload for you. It should read: “‘We aren’t flirting,’ Red says, crossing her arms, ‘We aren’t flirting, are we, Ned?’” Noticing things like this makes it so you have a lot less mistakes to correct as you go! :)
@iluvSchleeping15 күн бұрын
What she’s written is correct. What you’ve written removes her voice. Dialogue-action-dialogue is fine. Maybe she didn’t want to use a dialogue tag.

Hello, Ana! I have so many things to write, and it's all my fault. I always come up with new ideas and I can't write them down fast enough. But! I still want to write, because I want to make other people explore new worlds, new ideas and new modes of being. That said, I have some questions for you: Why are you self-publishing? What is your novel about?
@ananoir2 ай бұрын
instead of just saving it on your computer, I recommend to save your important documents for your book everywhere you can. save it on your computer, a cloud like Google Drive, as well as a flash drive. things can happen to a computer and if you have to get your hard drive replaced, you lose EVERYTHING. so if you have to get a new computer or new hard drive, then at least you've saved it on a flash drive and your cloud

I sadly have to use Google docs right now because word Microsoft is no longer free 😭 I hope my book project will be safe I'm also gonna try to make a music playlist for my book (it's a animal fantasy with animals that fall in love so maybe I could call it a animal romantasy with no spice?)

I have this random question. How many povs per chapter is too much? I want to put six povs in each chapter with like 1200 words each pov but I feel like it’d be too messy?
@glxsyy_avery2 ай бұрын
I’m a new writer currently but I feel like it might be a bit much. BUT if you really want to make 6 povs I would recommend dedicating one section of the story to each character instead of switching between them multiple times Again this is only what I would do you can do whatever you want!
@herelieschar2 ай бұрын
i agree with the other comment that putting the book into 6 parts would be better than a new POV every 1200 words, it would make it confusing to read I think
@sadturtle-i2c2 ай бұрын
Six of Crows had a lot of POVs, I got lost, but everyone else loves that book. Personally, I’m not sure though, probably make sure it is like- not very confusing
@herelieschar2 ай бұрын
@@sadturtle-i2c i forgot about 6 of crows, the povs were good i just found myself taking a bit longer to get into each chapter with the amount of them
@era_by_era57712 ай бұрын
Books that do this well are Good Omens (no chapters but scene breaks where it switches) and Beartown by Fredrick Backman (pov switches throughout the chapter) both have way more than 6 povs. Something they do is going through their head instead of their eyes? Like, it analyzes the character's thinking and actions, but it's like you and the author are flies on the wall watching the character, instead of being them and seeing through their eyes. Both those books are literary/literary leaning, but I'd still recommend reading both just to see how it works. A book already mentioned, six of crows, also does 6 povs really well. A big thing that helps is characters being in physically different places, and having different priorities they're thinking about. When everyone's in the same place thinking about the same thing, which is mostly unavoidable, it's much easier to confuse povs. Also, if you plan to do every pov once a chapter, there's no reason it can't just be a different chapter each pov.
