Always so wise and witty, always makes me smile! 🙏🏻 btw., there is a beautiful book called „the way of zen“ by Alan Watts. And guess what, already in the introduction he stresses the importance of the periphal vision of the eyes... same great principles everywhere. :) merry xmas to you and your loved ones☃️ ☃️🙏🏻❤️

Dearest guruji! This reminds me of Pandora’s Box. The last thing to emerge from Pandora’s Box was Hope. Sit with all of the emotions and you will get to the love and hope. I’ve used the technic of OMing into the emotions or problems and it never cease to amazing me how fast the situation disappears.

Dear Shrī Knutson, seeing the energy on your face, I doubt if you ever have faced prolonged depression!? 😂😂 Jokes apart, I have been living alone for past 30 years and thanks to the Divine, none of the depressions has lasted a month. The easiest way to life is to be a minimalist, have minimal expectations from others and start loving your own self without being selfish. My praṇaama to you. 🙏🏽

This does way more than just make sense. It is very recognisable. When I ran into the last question (why me? , I'll spare you its origins.) I found out that only a shift in paradigma could provide answer, so it really was the last question of my old life. Thus my spiritual development kicked off. I guess people are right when they say that the truly important things are done alone. Facing oneself does open doors (and eyes) By the way, I caught myself using your most powerful words: It is allright, it is aaallright. Grazie.

Wow - you did it again. i just looked at the date and realized that you published this today. i've been falling into a depression that seems to have no bottom this year, it got bad this week. - my birthday was on Dec 1. and i burst into tears talking to a sales rep on the phone. This is hard to listen to when one is depressed - but i kept moving it back and hearing your words repeated. it makes so much sense. i've cancelled plans with a friend today because i know i need to be with myself and figure this out. Thankyou so much for this. out to the pine trees i go.

I have tried breathing into tension/pain in your body repeating loving mantras and watched as the tension built, almost unbearable, then left but popped up in different areas in my body until at the end it disappeared. Your wonderful story brought back a memory and with it, an understanding. When my daughter was very young, she was prone to tantrums. Absolutely beautiful tantrums with tears and various physical outbursts. When she would do this at home, I would sit with her and just watch. I would sometimes hug her, or lend a few words of understanding, if she would let me, but mostly I would just be present for her. I did not know why I did this, I just felt to just watch and be a peaceful presence for her. Oddly, a time or two I took a photo of her in this state. In time, her energy would run its course, and a happy peace would reveal itself once again from this beautiful soul. Now, as I go within, I do the same with my emotional energy. I give it an Om and watch. These teachings have such a mysterious loveliness to them. I cannot comprehend their depth with thought, yet, it seems, that awareness, stillness, heals. Blessings brother and thank you.

Absolutely wonderful! have you been reading my mind? It seems you have clarified what I was encountering yesterday. I literally stayed with my emotion and it dissipated. However, I have not gone deep enough as it dissipated quickly before my reaching at the bottom of it. Perhaps, that's the reason I couldn't see the light coming up. I just felt lighter and ok after that emotion passed away. As you say, the stories we tell ourselves never bring any respite. Thanks you for clarifying it beautifully. Ever so grateful! 💖💖🙏🙏
@ForrestKnutson

So wonderful and well done! It isn't necessary that you see or feel the same light that I saw, but you found that the emotion dissipated, which is perfect. You can test to see if you can still find the negative emotion, and if you can't find it, then it's gone. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@@ForrestKnutson Wonderful! Thank you! A question arises here. I addressed the emotion when it came up by being with it and feeling it completely. However, the same emotion will come up again after some days or months and it can be the same emotion. As you said that we don't address the emotion properly as it comes up again. The question is how to go deeply into it step by step so that you reach the bottom of it? 🙏🙏

@@pavneetkaur4545 in that case, we're not getting to the deepest root, and TLT can be really helpful in this regard. It asks for the very first instance, so using the timeline, we are getting before the very beginning of the gestalt. That's what makes the difference. Great question! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Fridays with Forrest, eh? :P And yeah, the black dog is no joke. I've been dealing with depression for over thirty years now, but it has become more manageable by means of body work. Dr. van der Kolk, the author of The Body Keeps the Score, states you cannot overcome trauma if you don't help your nervous system get back to normal. Not surprisingly, he's a big advocate of Heart Rate Variability Resonance Breathing. The practices you share are part of my self-care routine. Om Yapa has been particularly useful. I thank you for that. Blessings and blissings to you and your loved ones!

So perfect! I once watched a Russian practicing Systema beat out some chronic stuckness out of one of his students. I had watched the student intermittently for the week-long training, and the gentleman was wound up to the breaking point. The teacher struck him in a nerve plexus over and over again until he was literally on the ground, and when he got up you could see the clearing of his face and mind. It was one of the most incredible demonstrations I've ever seen. So yes, I absolutely agree, and I'm so happy to hear that my tools are helping you as well brother. 🤩🙏☃️🎄

I’ve been practicing sitting with emotions for years and years (mostly via Thich Naht Hanh’s and other Buddhist teachers). But when I practice om-ing into them it feels like I’m fighting them/trying to push them away. Even when I’m trying to make an effort to sit with them while om-ing it still seems to fight with it. It does dissolve but I feel unsure of if it is actually working itself out or just being bypassed.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
What resolves the negative emotion in timeline therapy is the learning. So we do the work and we go before the very first instance and that is where we get the learning. And the learning preserves the transformation. I wouldn't hold it as if you are fighting the emotion. Do it with the assurance that a nuclear bomb causes annihilation. Drop the ohm and then see what happens. The way that it works in this case is we wipe out the emotion and that's when we get clarity. That's when the learning can suddenly appear to us concerning that particular emotion. We may get the learning consciously or subconsciously, and when that takes place that's what again causes the transformation and the lasting change.

Hope this makes sense
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely Julie, great question! Once you are used to finding the chakras with your mind easily, then you just mentally ask yourself where is this coming from? For example jealousy would come from the second chakra, anger and fear and sadness originated from the third chakra, heartache from the heart, and wanting to swallow our words or wanting to yell at somebody comes from the throat. After doing this a few times it becomes routine and it's very quick and easy. You might need to hide away at first in order to do this but eventually you can do it in the moment. Place your mind on the chakra and mentally imagine the sound of OM is vibrating and dropping into that chakra. Then place another and another OM until the emotion dissipates. You can also try practicing the Rescue Breathing. That video is on my channel. Try it by itself or with this OM practice.

OMG I did that procedure (but was kind of instinctively) the last time I was having a very confusing time. Even I wrote a poem. It's in Spanish of course, but exactly I started my introduction to it with that statement of the Gordian Knot😅 Yo se que los peores días, son esos en los que no puedes producir ni un solo sentimiento de amor hacia ti mismo.

For the technique to work it's important to witness the feelings I.e. to be able to feel them fully but simultaneously have a certain distance created by observing them neutrally. Otherwise the feelings can be reinforced which may make the situation worse. Done correctly though, the feelings will dissolve.
