When i was 20 years old, i was at sams club working as a floor stocker. A person from pharmacy asked if i was interestedmin being pharm tech. I decided why not (never thought of medicine before). I ended up loving it and i remember my General manage at the time telling me i wouldnt make it as a pharm tech, i wasnt smart enough and would be back on the floor. Fastword 16 years, working in a hospital making chemo meds and infusions, plus also in nursing school jsut about to finish my first semester. Dont let ANYONE dictate what you can and cant do. This is THE very best personal medicine journey video on KZbin - authentic, thoughtful, positive, and inspiring !! ❤🎉
@mytube7852 ай бұрын
In his videos, Shaun just genuinely shares his personal journey of life and lets his experiences and drive lead his path. Even in this video, you can see that his aspiration to be a PT motivated him studying hard, and his good grades from his clases in turn lead him to pursue medicine. Experiences and Drives together trump everything. This is in great contrast to those influencer channels that are full of “How to…”, “How much…”videos, which try to dig out a path for the students for an intrinsic personal journey. Those are not much different psychologically than some parents who impose their wills on their children to become such and such in the shadows of themselves. When so motivated (or pressured), there will always be doubts in the students’ minds for their career choices, even AFTER they obtain a MD or similar degrees. We’ve seen these too often these days, on social media and in real life. Let your own Experiences and Drives together lead YOUR path !! That is the reason why I LOVE his videos !!

@@ShaunAndersen YW. Medicine - premed, med school, residency, … - is arduous, but you continue proving that one can thrive in one’s medicine journey. I just learned that Stanford residents struck a deal with Stanford Health for 21% raise in salary over 2025-2028, and the new 2025 interns will be the first PGY1 resident physicians to receive 6-figure salary. The effort started in 2020 and it is only now starting to bear fruit. Stanford residents and fellows “fight for a good fight”, I’m sure what they achieved will soon be achieved by residents and fellows everywhere in the US !! One can also See the interview with Dr. Philip Sossenheimer, who was the leader and instrumental to making it happen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onbFZIqtlNebqNE I’ll post the news, too.

So frustrating when advisors discourage students from pursuing their goals…A HS advisor told my best friend that she wasn’t made for college 😭 Not saying she’s the reason she didn’t go but it sure didn’t help…Especially now as an adult, seeing all the young college students makes me so happy like I just want to tell them “you have the whole world ahead of you!!!” Proud of you for pursuing your dreams and sharing your story. (2) Also I'm starting my science courses next semester. What are your study tips? (3) I've some opinionated family and friends who put my dreams down. How do I keep pushing and ignoring their negativity? (4) From your last video - I would like to make a goal and run a 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon, or full marathon with you by December 31st, 2025. How can we make this happen? Thank you for your advice.

1) that’s awesome! 👏 is the program in Las Vegas? Or in another town? 2) science courses are the most important so I recommend utilizing your campus tutoring resources but also free ones like Kahn Academy for helping you prime yourself for new topics! 3) no one else’s opinions of what you’re doing with your life matter and you just shouldn’t be listening to them. Do what you want to do regardless of how others feel. It’s your life, not theirs! 4) I’ll be doing several races including a half and full marathon in vegas next year! Rock and roll and Revel!
