Wow she gave me cold chills watching this video. At the moment I do makeup on myself and people are always complimenting me on my makeup, but I haven't had the courage to ever say that I want to be a makeup artist. I was so afraid until one day my cousin who does professional makeup said wow your makeup is beautiful! You should start a little gig and do people faces and I taught deeply about it. First thing came to mind, where will I ever start?! that was my biggest concern. but watching this video gave me a lot of confidence. I actually wanted to do Hair & Makeup. I care about my appearance a lot. But atm i'm in college aspiring to be a Project Manager. But this video gave me a lot of confidence. Thank you so much hun. GOD BLESS YOU!

I do my own makeup and I honestly learned from watching you and two other people when I first started out. It is VERY hard to try and do other peoples makeup, I think it's because of the fact that you might mess up, or at least that's how I feel. You're a big makeup inspiration to me and I hope one day I am as good as you are. I wanted to go to school for makeup but then I realized that it's really something natural that I love to do and I continued to push myself to be better at it. I always get compliments on my makeup so I hope one day I'll be as good as you.

This is one of the best how to videos I've seen. You are so real and genuine!! People believe that you can just go from A to Z with a snap and they don't realize that being a makeup artist is really such hard work. I've been doing freelnace makeup very part time for 6 years, while I still work full time at a call center. I finally am making the move to become a full timer after years of saving and paying lots of debt off. Seriously, your video almost had me in tears at how much you hustled to do what you love and I can't wait to be there as well!! Thank you and I adore your channel

Ok....I've been beating myself up because last night I did my sister-in-law's makeup yesterday, and it came out HORRIBLE! I'm light skinned and she's dark skinned. She used her own foundation, which looked exactly like what they matched her with at MAC. Long story short, she just wound up looking ashy. I was soooooooo disappointed! I have spent SEVERAL hours since yesterday researching her skin complexion and getting some ideas on which foundations to try on her today. I'm going to do her makeup again today and use my own foundation choice, but now I just have anxiety about the whole situation. Thanks for sharing.

First and foremost I just want to say you're a Beautiful Woman and I'm Thankful for you sharing your story. I found this video to be such an inspiration to follow my passion without feeling discouraged or doubtful. We definitely have something in common "Fear at First" I love makeup and I'm comfortable with exploring different colors. My main focus is bringing attention to the eyes with different shades of eyeshadow. My intentions and goals is to own my own eyeshadow line and I believe starting out as an makeup artist can set the tone for a cosmetic line. I'm constantly asking friends and family to let me play with their face to gain more experience and to have pictures in the start of my portfolio, so far I've done a good job and still have a lot to master but with more practice and determination I will succeed. I'm always watching KZbin tutorials and follow a lot of makeup artist on Instagram and do understand by watching you and others has given me such a positive impact and influence on enhancing my skills that I'm Blessed with and I'm learning to teach myself to create my own signature to be able to stand out as well.

You are such a beautiful woman and your makeup looks fabulous! I greatly appreciate you sharing your story, it was very inspiring. My only question is have you ever attended any makeup artistry schools? And if so, for how long? Reason I ask is because I was told that I needed to be licensed or certified in order to become a professional makeup artist, but after listening to your testimony on how your talent alone is what opened doors of opportunity for you, I'm starting to think going to makeup school might not necessarily be a requirement..

I love your information and realism! I've been a hairstylist for just shy of 13 years, and just started doing makeup at work. I love that you stated," doing makeup on yourself is so much different than doing it on others." I've said that same exact thing for the last few years of working at Ulta. Nowhere on my social media do I post that I'm a makeup artist, because I'm still learning and growing in this medium. My kit is growing as well, and that definitely takes time and money. It's an exciting journey and I'm interested to expand my craft and love for hair & makeup.

I've been considering becoming a makeup artist - I know a lot about skincare, about how skin reacts to products, and how colours work together. Mostly because I have crappy skin and a lot of art theory behind me. And because I am, frankly, a geek, which is an attitude and way of life, not a narrow area of interest. Thank you for doing this video; it's food for thought.

I'm not a makeup artist, but I love what you said about having to fake it 'til you make it. I'm starting a business myself (I'm a graphic designer), so I've had the same feelings you talked about... not knowing what to charge off the top of your head and learning from doing (while convincing folks that you are amazing in the process lol). You're gorgeous, your work is beautiful, and I wish you the best of luck... now and in the future.

This is amazing and so encouraging! I have just started and am really quite nervous about just getting out there but it's great to know that it's not a strange place to be in. It will get better if I continue to work at it. Thanks so much!
