I appreciate seeing you “struggle” during workouts and showing it on camera. I felt the same way in my 11 mile LT workout this week (at a much slower pace) so it’s encouraging knowing we are all pushing our bodies and minds, albeit at different paces. Love it.

Agreed, I miss my college team. Living in a town of less than 1,500 people and an hour north of a major city makes the lone wolf the only way at this stage in life. But these videos and others help me stay encouraged as I kick the rust off my running career that went to sleep after graduate school.

Eric I’ve been following your journey for over a year now. I love how you show the ups and downs with training, all while taking care of it at home with your family and work. Putting your ‘not so good’ days out there for others to relate to really resonates with me because I have those bad workouts too. I used to really get down on myself for having ‘bad workouts’ but I remind myself I just got better and I’d rather fall hard in practice than on race day. Also Brock casually talking all while holding 5:40 with you is nuts 🤯🤣. He is not human. Jeff coached me for my first 2 marathons. His workouts are no joke. They really test your limits physically and mentally. More mental than anything. I’m in Chicago too, hopefully I catch you on the lake front sometime. Crush it in Boston. Cheers.

Hey Eric! I resonate with the "chip on the shoulder to prove independence" mentality. It doesn't seem to be serving me well as I crave team camaraderie like I did in collegiate sport. Thanks for sharing this! It definitely helps me to reframe my approach.

What you said about the BPN media team and all the athletes is EXACTLY the way I felt running both the 22 and 23 Go One More marathons. It felt so fulfilling being surrounded by fellow runners and people with the same mindset, as well as filmmakers whose work I connect with, and I can connect with because I do that same kind of work. That's probably why I connect so well with your story and what you're doing with this community. Thank you Eric, and Go One More.

“I have the responsibility to show up for myself. And God knows it’s not alone anymore.” Gave me literal chills hearing that. If every milestone came from having a chip on your shoulder, I can only begin to imagine what you’ll accomplish now that you’re doing it for yourself. Good luck in Boston Floberg. You inspired me to run my first Marathon coming up in 2.5 weeks. Milwaukee Marathon here we go.

Are we as consumers really still buying products because youtubers are sponsored by them? Especially supplements which are already overpriced and questionable how much they even help. You're just paying for the brand at this point. Not to mention you'll never get any honesty from these guys when it comes to BPN products because they are getting paid to say it.

"Sponsored" has various definitions. 1. They give you stuff. Specifically, stuff that you didn't buy previously. There is no monetary value to this since you're not even saving what you used to spend on it. Now you're in the business of storing junk someone else is looking to unload. 2. They buy other things for you. Plane tickets and hotel rooms. Race entries. This can be hundreds of dollars a year back in your pocket IF it's stuff you were buying out of pocket previously. If not, you're now stuck doing a bunch of stuff you wouldn't have been doing otherwise. 3. They give you thousands of dollars every month. Now, you can survive only from the sponsorship. You have no 'day job'. To be fair, most runners in this category didn't have anything you'd call a 'day job' even prior to securing sponsorship. This video is vague enough that the viewers are not told which of these is going on. A lot of people could probably claim to be a 'sponsored runner'. Some percentage of those use sponsorship income to buy everything they consume. Wherever they live and whatever they drive. Many of them support other people such as kids with the proceeds as well. My suspicion is 'BPN athlete' doesn't refer to the ones I describe in the above paragraph, which is to say, athletes whose only income is sponsorship. How do they eat the day this was filmed? BPN covered it. How do they eat the other 363 days a year? Some other way.
