I remember reading some of the comments people made on Instagram after viewing a snippet of the video and they were backlashing the lady. All I could think of was how broken and messed up so many Nigerian youths are. How is it that a victim that fell into a trap is being chastised more than the one who set the trap in the first place? It’s beyond me. It blew my mind and not in a good way. I was so perplexed, I had to stop reading the comments so as not to get angry. The snippet didn’t include her back story, but even if she didn’t have such financial constraints, how is that a victim is criticized like that? Just how?! I hope people are learning and healing from these Stories series and not just listening to “gist”. I hope that as much as their minds are grasping new informations, their hearts also are; to be more empathetic towards others. Or at least not cause more harm by shutting up when they barely know and understand the entire story

May God heal you dear. I have had same experience with 2 different Pastors. The second one I told the wife about it and she ended up branding me to be the devil trying to tarnish the image of the husband. Meanwhile it's something the husband does but has branded himself Soo holy that no one will ever believe he does that. Ladies keeps leaving the Church but the wife is still not suspecting anything. Later I met some of the ladies who left and they were now telling their story when they found out I left the Church. The way the suffered before I could leave the Church errh....the wife refused to let me leave the Church, she kept coming to my use anytime I don't go to Church. That was when I now opened up to tell her and she branded me the devil. Infact a lot is happening in our Churches, destinies on innocent are being destroyed by these wolfs in sheep's clothing. May God have mercy on them. At times you may not understand some of these things but the truth is sometimes you may not know how, by the time you realize they have had their way with you. One of the Pastors told me God told him to penetrate but not release the sperms because if am not sexually active and I marry I won't be able to satisfy my husband, this after he made me breakup with my boyfriend and encouraged me too stay holy. Till now I don't understand how and why I gave myself to him at what he said. He had a loophole cos I had told him of my past with the Priest and so. I experienced 2 rapes, one a medical doctor drugged me when my Boss sent me to take his medicine from his house for him. Secondly a Catholic priest whom I went with to a village to serve him cos I was a mass servant then and he also raped me cos we were staying in the same room. By the help of God I have overcome my past and am now free from the torment of it. I wish I was in Nigeria I would have shred my story as well cos till now I still keep thinking of the innocent young ones coming up who will believe and do anything any Pastor will tell them to without seeking to know God for themselves.

This story in particular is an eye opener. From how to not share your past with some people down to not letting them know how secretive you are. Because "The Pastor and The Politician" already knew she is a secretive person from how she told them about herself and that she wasn't going tell anybody even if they did anything to her. They took advantage of the information she gave to them. She just needed someone to talk to, who would show her love without expecting anything in return. I just finished reading "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers, and I must say, this story and redeeming love has almost the same story line. This is a call to draw closer to God because He's the only friend that will listen without judging or taking advantage of our past(s). Only God loves unconditionally!

I did my NYSC in Maiduguri, Brono state, Nigeria more than a decade ago. It was quiet interesting to find out that only the men do most of the labor work like selling food items at the market and the likes. I understood her when she said that she tried learning brick laying work but was told no because of the cultural norm. It would have been extreemly difficult for her to find an unskilled labour work to do which resulted in her taking the route she took. I was thinking exactly the same. Her silhouette should have been shown from the back view and her voice distorted like you suggested. That way her life is most likely to be safer than this way it was presented. I know it's more expensive that way, but the victim's life is worth protecting

Just because you think you have common sense, it's really no leverage to judge anyone. I had a friend back then in school, and watching this now just makes so much sense. Because I thought I was wiser and stronger, I judged her for being so slow and cheap. But the truth is this: fear can cripple even the greatest. It's a childhood disfuntional issue, and my heart really prays for children growing up rn. Thank you, Apostle. We are grateful for all the people God has used you to help.

May the Lord strengthen your arms PST Femi. The reality of this are every where. The first married man who who almost harassed me was my senior pastor. Am a born again believer, fervent in spirit. I know there are so many genuine men of God, but there are a lot of Wolves in sheep clothing in church as pastors. I know that God is all knowing, one day all the workers of iniquity will be punished accordingly.

I have not been a worker in church for over two years. All because the pastor of the church I used to kept on propositioning me. He even went to the extent of gaslighting me on the altar. All this while he was poisoning the minds of my husband and in laws against me. I kept trying to leave but because I didnt want to paint a "man of God" as an evil person, I couldn't tell my husband the truth. This man would come visit us at home, send my husband on irrelevant errands and then ask me to meet him at hotels. We finally left the church on 2022 and he has painted us as bad people to his members. My prayer life had been dead for almost 2 years and i just started going to church but the joy that was there is not there any more. I'm struggling and I know I will get it back.
