The way I organized my packages is by the driver aid number, specifically the last two numbers. I would organized the 40s with one pile, 30s in one pile and 20s in one pile. Takes me about two minute. Also, with driver aid numbers that have letters on it, I would set those all together. Normally, I would get like 30 packages on the average. Less stress then just digging in the tote trying to find the right one.
@Owlitics Жыл бұрын
I just started working for Amazon, your way certainly worked the best. I had 170 stops and was done in 6 hours using your method. Then I’ll be on standby chilling for an hour, if they don’t need a rescue I can go back to the station. I’ve had to rescue three people on my first week. I started on the 16th of this month and was driving on the 20th. So my DSP told me if I keep doing what I’m doing and being consistent. I’ll be receiving Driver of the month within my first month. Which they’ve said never has happened before. So thank you! Your comment helped me on my first day route. I was super nervous going on. I don't even organize anymore, too much time wasted. Throw as many boxes on the shelf and dig through the tote for the small stuff, it's not a big time waster, it's about the same amount of time as organizing. The more totes you get rid of the more room you have. After 4 Totes you should now be able to fit all of you packages on the shelf, which again I don't organize. Boxes first than the little stuff. Just make sure the Aid numbers are up, so you can see them as you walk by. I do a lottle more than 30 stops an hour and spend about 30 seconds unloading every tote. As long as the tote doesn't have 50 packages, this is the fastest method. Once it get up there in numbers it's better to organize first. But if it only like 15-20 just put them on the shelf and move on, no need to orgainze. When it comes to overflow, I just put all the hundreds together all the 9's here, the 8's there, and figure it out when I get to the stops. I will peek at the list when loading to know which ones are first. The only time this backfired, was when I had 60 Overflow, and they were all 800 and 900, shit ojt of luck with that one.

Our DSP has been putting pressure on us to be back at the station by 7:30pm and we dont get on the road til 11am. Exactly why I always chose the bigger vans. Would clear the shelf closest and try leaving a portion on the door side...and also using the totes upside down with other totes inside to act as support...leaving boxes on one side and the envelope/bags on the shelf behind the driver seat.
@andrewstone3636 Жыл бұрын
I always empty my first bag and use it as a table in my passenger seat. (I prioritize myself before other drivers who haven’t loaded up yet.) But when I’m done I do help others. I use it for non boxes(bags,envelopes,etc. It has cut down so much time.

I start driving tomorrow and I noticed you leave the doors open and truck unlocked when delivering a package 20 ft away ... I asked about that today and my DSP told me the vehicle must be shut and locked and vehicle off for every single stop . Even if the house is right infront of you . All these tips would be so helpful but I'm nervous to do any because of the 270° cameras on me at all times lol 😂 I want to do the best job I can but I just find that some places I shouldn't have to turn off vehicle like being right infront of it . But rules are rules . All your tips are so helpful . I'm nervous but excited !!
@Kyndral22 Жыл бұрын
it all depends on your DSP, for us we only have the little sprinters and i always have my side door open wide and keys in the ignition, unless im going inside a building, i never get talked to about it. But some dsps will check that stuff, id say ask some other drivers if they do that and then go off of that. Also keep in mind safety, if you are in a bad neighborhood then always keep it secure. For me though our vans are so crap half of them cant shut or lock properly so it doesnt matter

Tip 1. Vehicle: my dispatch manager said i damaged to many vans, but told me 1 year with no damage he'll authorize me on the rivians. (Ive only been a driver for a year.) Tip 2. Organize: i set up my van like you do, 1 tote at a time and i sort my next 5 stops, some do the full tote. But sometimes 1 tote is 1-3 stops. (Old policy they dont do alphabet anymore lol) Tip 3: seatbelt trick. Idk if flex dings people for this. But interesting 🤔. Tip. 4: phones are locked so we can't do that anymore 😔. Tip 5: eat lol.

I make a small table out of my first bag and put it in the passenger seat. I use that to hold my envelopes and I organize the boxes on the shelves. But sometimes I have like 18 bags and I’m in a sprinter van right now and I barely have room for anything at all.

Beware anytime you return Amazon item, save your receipts for at least 90 days or take picture and save that. As Amazon will wait like 60 days and tell you they didn’t receive the return, knowing you probably don’t have proof of return! This happened to my cousin who I am writing for as he cancelled his Amazon and does not have Facebook. He immediately returned something at a UPS store and after about 2 Months they said they didn’t receive item and would charge him. He will of course dispute with credit card company but be aware…. this should be a class action lawsuit in the future.
