The video...literally... was made for a purpose💀 However, all this video is doing is contradicting the entire premise bc this is not enlightenment it is arrogance of the ego. In the very simplest terms, Enlightenment is a Buhddist term that's been around for centuries meaning the complete healing and separation from anger, greed, and ignorance (of which this video has all of). The rest of the people commenting aren't "trying to sound woke" or anything, it's just literal research and facts.

@KibatsuMusic6 жыл бұрын
With the words he used, life isn't just about happiness, a lot of it is about growing, that is a fulfilling life. I experienced the same exact thing in a totally different way, grown up feeling disconnected, thanks to bad genetics passed on in the family, to then become so enlightened I lost myself with math and engineering. I eventually experienced deep depression, panic attacks, induced anxiety, even psychosis. I felt disconnected from reality and people, although I felt enlightened, eventually nature fought back, it wasn't healthy or accurate with how the world works. You eventually come out of it, but you have to find your own meaning process, but you will return to the natural world. This is the process of self-discovery. After all, we are human, and we all want to simply be loved, feel secure, connected, and happy. You will feel blessed to simply be okay, finally you can then give back to the world.

Jordan all I can tell you is if you haven't got to the point yet where you feel like you want to step back in to society, don't force yourself too much and try not to get caught up with the commentary of it. What hurts most is people and if you worry about just helping others, waking up happy and just going with the flow instead of worrying all the time, slowly you will be able to step out and feel that good feeling again. It sucks being like this, it's also MORE then what he is talking about but I believe we can get back to that place that feels good... I want to feel good living again as well my friend, we can do it if we spread the happiness and try to focus on that instead of all the bad, hate and negativity of the world.

All One is Alone Remembering the illusion really threw me for a loop as well. While at “Godhead” I realized how important separation is to my ego. How it’s the REASON I exist. We incarnate because of Desire. We take form as separate beings in order to fulfill desire. Remembering that nothing really “matters” on the ultimate scale, has liberated me from much pain, sorrow, and fear, while simultaneously plunging me into a deep depression where finding motivation to “grow” and challenge myself has been very difficult. Quite the paradox (but that’s how this all works, eh?) Cheers to my fellow seekers and Woke MFs

Anyone who has done any study on psychology can tell he isn't as enlightened as he claims and this is his ego speaking. When you're enlightened, you find peace within yourself and calm. His mind is disturbed and he still has a lot of figuring out to do. Which is normal at taht age, MANY are going through it right now. But instead of admitting it, he places himself in higher place spiritually claiming to be different. There's a hint of immaturity and too much ego in this guy.

Because if you want to find peace , you have to let go of that ego and what it desires ... and he clearly doesn't want to . and by the way , you could have an elightenment experience and not liking what you discover after that.

Beautiful. Am a two time death process survivor and returner and my experience is we are all enlightened. It's just whether we recognize it or not. At death when oxygen stops there is a space of clear, milky antique white light with swirling light pastel rainbows moving about. We don't have a body then. That's what appears. If can realize that "this is me. This is my mind. I am this. I AM THAT I AM. This in lightened state is me" then voila! Heaven bows to that one and can go on pretty much however we like. We are al being watched over by our town flame at all times while we dream this. Desire is in fact waking up from a dream. It's a lot like in he movie Matrox where Trinity is talking to Neo while he is in the chair and in the matrix- giving him confidence so he can get up and stop those bullets. People Who don't know who that voice is call it God. Or your muse. Or an ange or guardian. It is all of those things but is actually your own divine twin. You are he equal of that. You really are a god. This world is interesting because we have such amnesia coming here!

Bro I been living like this for years and it just got worse and worse. By the time I knew it I was 28 and with no friends, no job, no educations and in my room constantly. I am now starting to learn that it's NOT about everyone... It's NOT about what people think. I also am PTSD with high anxiety and have been aware since before I had these conditions. These are societal conditions a lot of times, not mental issues... They manifest because of PEOPLE and what society tells us, constantly going back and forth in a tug of war with morality, whats good enough and how people view you. What you should do is start not caring so much... Some things we literally need to tell ourselves "forget it, it's not worth it". Let yourself be free... Don't let others and society rule your thoughts... YOU are the only one who can really know how to change it because you know you the best... I believe homie, I believe in you and I am finally starting to believe in myself (almost cries lol). We can do this!

I am a practising buddhist. I converted after a great deal of thinking about life and purpose. It looks to me like this person is confusing enlightenment with dissociation. Enlightenment is to remove desire and longing, and to be constantly present in the mind- the concept of pure focus. This man's perceived 'connectedness to the world' is an illusion put forth to him by his mind on substances, and his fear of losing himself is in itself, evidence of being still unenlightened. What caught my attention in particular is the part in which he talked about telling other people about his thoughts, which an enlightened person would not have to do. I'm not sure enlightenment is easily definable, nor even if it is at all attainable, but I don't believe that this man was ever enlightened, but rather perhaps isolated and lonely.

This comment is articulated in a really nice way (not judgemental, rather explaining), other than most of the comments, thanks for that. Usually I'd stand with Pierre, especially since he seems to better himself constantly, but I have to agree with you - bettering yourself and changing your perspective isn't the same as enlightment. I think he's using the wrong word... I know the struggle myself and for some time I felt "enlightened" (I didn't call it "enlightened" tho, I knew it wasn't exactly the same), before I realised that I had just taken a few steps into the right direction. There's way more to come and I'm far from being even close to enlightment. But I think huge (positive) changes in your personality and/or perception of reality within a short period of time can feel like some sort of enlightment

@@nihalnihal9356 You have to face reality. I used to disassociate to the point that looking in the mirror I didn't see who I thought I was. Now I just do small coping through disassociation. It can be helpful to have space from your problems for a time. It becomes it's own problem when you do it for too long. But yeah. For the larger disassociation I was doing, I just basically started looking in the mirror and saying "This is me." And it eventually went away. Make sure you continue to live your life as best as you can, and to not let this hold you back. When you let disassociation hinder and control you, it only gets worse. Basically, you have to tell it to screw off and try to dismiss or better your thoughts. Hope this helps!!

growing means doing things that you have not done or experienced before which can be hard and you will sometimes feel like giving up. Growing therefore has many faces not just happyness but all.....
@GodisgudAQW6 жыл бұрын
To everyone saying that growing is a tool to reach happiness, your judgment of the meaning of life is warped. No, life is not about happiness. It is about depth. You can't have depth if you only experience one emotion. If you are happy all the time, you haven't truly lived, you have only indulged. You have depth by growing up. And growing up is not a way to be happy. Growing up is a painful, nauseating, anxiety-ridden experience. Growing up is no guarantee of happiness and may, in fact, guarantee that you won't be happy all or even most of the time. However, it will make you more human, more knowledgeable, perhaps even more wise. Without these traits, happiness is worth nothing.
@GodisgudAQW6 жыл бұрын
Depression is not about being sad. It's about feeling that everything is superficial, meaningless, and hopeless. The antidote to depression isn't a dose of happiness, but a sense that life is substantial, meaningful, and promising. These are all realizations that can't happen without sufficient depth in character.

true if one's happy and nothings else could matter in general but the thing is that once you're happy being in certain area and gets too immersed in it, you won't be able to grow as you'll be limited by that zone you're in as in you aren't willing to leave that comfort zone.

That’s not enlightenment. It’s just a harsh honesty about the world. It’s easy to confuse enlightenment with understanding this matrix experience around us. Finding happiness within these boundaries is hard, harder for aliens like us.

Enlightenment is exactly what it sounds like: in light. It's really a lot harder than it seems and then it is so unbelievably easy it's hilarious how easy. The part that is hard about it is hat it requires a ton of merit gathered through orienting they mind on love and compassion for all. Suffering stems from self grasping here as happiness stems from benefitting all. It requires huge amounts of merit which is sorta like the purchasing currency of higher realizations and at the same time it purifies the mind of self grasping. You already are enlightened. That's a fact. You just have to realize it by seeing how your mind works. There is nothing to lose or gain. No amount of wandering in the world or experience of any kind can stain or ripen enlightenment. It is a process of unveiling it. It's quite easy. If you can follow your breath and close your eyes and just rest and watch your mind. When thoughts arise, at first, you need to logically investigate where the thoughts come from. Observe how they work. Don't grasp onto to thoughts or judge their quality- just watch how they arise and dissapear on their own. Where do they come from and where do they go? You have to make sure to train your mind at this stage to not grasp and follow the thoughts. Somewhere in that process you'll get what's called "waterfall" effect sheets thoughts come fast and plenty. That's the removal of the first veil when can see just how many thoughts there have been all along. Still pay the thoughts no attention. Just watch them arise and disappear in emptiness. That's a great first step to work on over some time. Eventually you'll have to recognize the underlying affliction that drives each thought whether it is : anger, jealousy, greed, pride, desire, or laziness. Meditations don't just meditate sheiks sitting. They meditate while doing all things and are constantly watching their mind and at an early stage are judging these thoughts based on the underlying affliction all day long- saying "that's jealousy" or "that's desire" . In sitting meditation we don't do that with thoughts at a middle stage. We instead watch our minds. Or the space where all the thoughts arise and disperse. That colorless, formless mind with no beginning or end or middle. Hats our natural mind. I see that when I meditate as does every meditator. It appears exactly the same of all of us. It is one mind. Many people call that God. The latter part of the process is lighting up that space of mind. That is done with love. When you love your life fully to benefit all beings/ when every step you take or piece of food you eat is taken in awareness with a wish to benefit all beings then you are getting close. At that point it becomes hard work. You can't let your mind run around. You train it. When washing dishes think "I am washing away all beings confusion, may they be happy in their luminous true nature". Sweeping the floor: "I am sweeping away all beings confusion. May they be happy and solid in their natural state" etc. everything you do you train, trim, train, and then you'll glimpse it. For a split second. But that split second is enlightenment. T is a tremendous merit to see it. So keep going and next time you see it will be longer. And on and on. There are beings in this world today who are able to see it all he time. The trick is they abide in love. There are many fully enlightened beings on Earth. That mind is something only the Buddha can see. Only Christ can see. And so remember that when you see that. Remember only the Buddha can see it so who are you then? The truth is we are all enlightened. It is love and empathy that sets us free. That and remembering hat what we wish on others becomes our fate so wish all beings happiness with only discipline directed at self. Loving discipline of course- not hurtful. Anyway, it's not that hard. It just tiara a lot of effort.. Garchen Rinpoche. Check him out. Peace and love. I wish you profound happiness and enlightenment.

Vee K. Vee K. I FOUND A GEM IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. I love your reply. It cuts directly through those that think they know what enlightenment is. It shows that you have absolutely experienced enlightenment with your own mind and have come back to tell the world. It explains how we already exist in the universe. But come alive through consciousness. As you said, we are already enlightened. It is just our job to find the enlightenment within us and realize through merit, experience and love that we coexist within this universe as one. The guy in the video is using the word exactly how it should have been used, given that he experienced psychedelics and found his own path to enlightenment. The other commenters adjourning to his statement, have no context of the ideas he and you have spread before them. They are plainly and severely uneducated on the subject. And quite frankly, it makes me laugh because of the ignorance they spew. You have obviously meditated deeply about your own conscience, thoughts, and ego. I am in total awe that you were able to interpret your findings so easily and so bravely in the comments section of KZbin. Thank you for reiterating. It’s really a blessing to find ones that are truly consciously aware. You do this without effort sir. And for this, I commend you.

I had to pause to stop crying, Pierre's story hits home incredibly hard. I truly wasn't expecting to find something like this today and I never knew how much I needed to hear that I wasn't the only one with a similar story. I've struggled with a detached ego since I was young, I am an artist, musician, empath and my own best friend. I don't know what it's like to be myself and yet I know who I am. I know that doesn't make sense.... I lost myself to isolation and now that I'm back I don't know what to do with myself and I literally feel like I'm inserting myself into the 'real' world. I feeling of "fake-ness" comes with each interaction. Honestly, the best thing thing I've found to do is be patient and understanding with the self. Whatever you wish to be, accomplish, and do? You'll get there, but still know that you, yourself as you are, are still the beauty of life.

Be wary of wisdom you did not earn, a quote from Carl Jung. It calls into question the "wisdom" obtained from the use of psychedelic substances. Really let that line just sink in, "be wary. of wisdom. you did not, earn." Life is absolutely not just about happiness, no doubt. Life is suffering, and your objective when placed on this earth is to try to minimize that inevitable suffering, and atleast make an attempt to improve others' as well. The pursuit of happiness will result in your eternal suffering. Do not chase happiness; happiness is a fleeting emotion that you will long for when it goes away; chase a joy in your life. A satisfaction, achieved with work.
@MichaelLittle476 жыл бұрын
Wisdom is not "earned", it is more aptly stated as "accepted". Life is not a prize given cautiously to the most meritorious. That's bullshit spoken from the separate consciousness. (See Matt 20:1-16)

It's important to note that the term "enlightenment" in the Buddhist tradition does not refer to what is experienced in this video. This is not what we, Buddhist, attempt to attain. What Pierre experienced, to include ego-driven behavior and the use of psychedelic substances, is the opposite of what Buddhist practice and it is written that you will not achieve enlightenment under these circumstances. I cannot speak for Pierre, but as a lay Buddhist practitioner, I believe that this distinction is important because "enlightenment" is very important within Buddhism. People who are not educated about Buddhism may assume that this video portrays enlightenment in the same way that Buddhist achieve enlightenment and that is not so. You can do your own research to verify it, but I wanted to make the distinction clear.

Enlightenment honey is not from buddhism. Enlightenment is when you realize the maya. He has choice to try to find others but usually enlightenment is seen as disassociating. Disassociating and making your own way is how buddha became what he is.
@MerryChrisMas253 жыл бұрын
the enlightenment is as old as the idea of god, you're egosticaly attaching the idea to what you subscribe to, if you actualy listened to your buddhist teachings you'd understand that the comment you made had no reason to be made as the essence of buddhism is basicaly the Budda who went on a quest for himself. No one can know where this young man quest will ultimately take him, he might very well become a buddhist and superpass your understanding of Buddhism based on his previous quest of finding himself elsewhere or not.

Enlightenment does not lead to depression. You can never become "too enlightened". This video seems really showy and I think this guy has a long way to go. Good luck to him tho.
@arisromero70526 жыл бұрын
you actually can. when you experience ego death it can be very traumatizing if you are not in a place or under the spiritual guidance from someone who can hold the space for you to do that safely. monks and nuns of any religion experience ego death and some levels of enlightenment where they renounce material attachment and dedicate their lives to service because they see the suffering of the world as the only constant. elightenment doesn't mean happiness. monks ans nuns can do that safely because they don't have the regular responsibilities of a normal person. their environment and living spaces are cared for and provided for. enlightenment through drugs is a delusion and not true enlightenment. they offer a glimpse but there's usually rigorous and discipline of practice to reach them, it's part of the foundation and that alone creates safety to reach such levels of enlightenment.
@LyghtWaves6 жыл бұрын
TL;DR but the ego is what suffers and experiences trauma. Not the enlightened self.
@Shadowrose543216 жыл бұрын
The ego is identification. The you that has a perception of what enlightenment is is also ego. It's not good or bad. If you think being enlightenment takes all the bad from life it won't. It might help you identify it better and handle it better. "This too shall pass. " But at the end of the day you need your ego.

I never claimed to know everything. In my opinion, one can never be "too enlightened". It's an ongoing process that never ends. Not to downplay this guy's lecture, but it seems he was simply experiencing the symptoms of being a man child. Without the threat of financial ruin, people tend to force existential crises on themselves because it gives them something to do for entertainment value. If you're going through this same problem, don't worry. Disconnect yourself from your family's wallet and financially support yourself. You'll have way less time to work on your crafts and your idealistic mind may be replaced by a dry economic one, but it'll produce a better creative product when you do make something.

@j What mental illness are you referring to? Did it result from his use of psychedelics or his own decision to cut himself entirely off from the world on the basis that he was unable to find anyone like him? Most people's interpretations and mindsets are determined from their own personal experiences and struggles of surviving while being independent, having to integrate themselves into society, and having to face reality head on. So I find it interesting that he'd have any reason of mental illness if he rarely associates with society and chooses to be trapped in his own head where he's drawn his own dimensions of the world, and they are purely from his imagination which hasn't really acknowledged or come into contact very well with the world in reality.

Yep... an INFJ. haha! (just an educated guess... could be infp, enfp or etc.) Being one, I know the feeling myself. Some people really do feel very alienated and are intellectual, but because of stereotypes get labeled "the niave pretentious hippies." And maybe some of us are a bit. But there also aren't that many people trying to see life how we see it. Stop impulsively writing off or discouraging these types of people and their passionate and honest expression. Just try to relate, because you'll admit that everyone goes through "this angsty teenager phase," but won't encourage and support the person who decides to persevere through that stage in search for existential understanding, and does not give in to the conventional, practical vanities of modern society. We wouldn't be where we are as a civilization without philosophers. Appreciate those who appear to reflect a bit longer than you. We're all on that journey (P.S. However I do agree that the choice of wording in the title comes off as a bit pretentious and should be reworded, particularly because "enlightenment" suggests we've figured this all out, and it's clear in the video than he said he lost himself in the world he was analyzing and is on a new leaf of focusing that analytical energy on finding his place in it all)

ダルブラドファニー Thank you. I thought it needed to be said. INFJ and INFP are two of the 16 different types of personalities within the Myers Briggs Type Indicator system. The four letters describe the ordering and combination of the 4 cognitive functions (4 of 8 total) that make up a type. These functions which are 4 in kind (upper case "N" Intuition, "S" Sensing "T" Thinking, "F" Feeling), are 8 with extrovert or introverted charge/orientation to them (lower case "i" or "e") INFJ which is said to be the rarest type in the world population, leads preferentially with Introverted Intuition (Ni), Extroverted Feeling (Fe) auxiliary, Introverted Thinking (Ti) tertiary, and Extroverted Sensing (Se) inferior. The combo that makes up the INFP would be (Fi-Ne-Si-Te) And likewise for the other 14 conceivable types It's a pretty interesting system. One that explained a lot about why I felt the way I felt, and why I looked at the world in such a different than it seemed so many others around me didn't. The Myers Briggs test along with lot of other helpful information can be found online and different types explaining the system well on KZbin. One I took was 16personalities.com. personalityhacker.com Is also a good one

His life centers around the physical world: recording music, painting, skateboarding, card tricks, etc. (Intuitives can do those things too, but sensors are way more natural at them). The fact that he needed psychedelics to reach his subconscious shows me that he's not comfortable with his mind as an intuitive would be.
@alfaisaac0246 жыл бұрын
I can see that. His methods of becoming abstract were through the many things he explored physically, although his exploratorily and artistically rebellious nature might suggest more ISFP

True enlightenment is not reaffirmation of you difference to other people, rather it's the realization that we are all connected, we all have the same feelings and the same problems. I can't help but feel like this guy is a bit pretentious and that this whole video is just a medium to feed his ego. Just because someone does psychedelics does not mean he or she has seen the light. Too many people try to sell themselves as prophets just because they realize what the ancient philosophers discovered thousands of years ago.

@dogestranding50476 жыл бұрын
Just Lissy I've felt this for so long now. So many people aim to be "happy." "Happiness isn't a goal. It's a by-product of a life well-lived." Happiness is just an emotion anyways. You don't have to feel that all the time, and you shouldn't. A better word might be contentment or "eudaimonia."

I really want to sit down and talk to this person. Usually in serious deep videos like this there's one or two lines that really hit you or are relatable. This video was different. _Every single sentence that he said hit me._ I'm not kidding when I say I relate to this on a spiritual level. It's just... different. It's like for once, someone was finally able to touch into my inner conscious but unconscious soul, even if it was just a soft tide. And for once, I actually feel refreshed. Just knowing that there's someone else out there who is able to tap into my lonesome consciousness and soul is perfectly fine by me. *Thank you Pierre.*

I've never taken drugs but my actions were like a drug. I'm an empath, not in a super power way, but in a way that it was easier for me to read people. I am a lover not a fighter. If I am fighting for something it's because I have to or because I'm being forced to. Otherwise I wasn't the kind who liked to argue. From your tone, your word choice, and expression I can actually know what you want just by looking at you. If you just want me to agree I can see that, if actually want my opinion I can see that. And as long as it was not anything radical, degrading, or dangerous I would usually go with what you want. Because I did this nearly all my life, I always did things for others and I didn't care about what I wanted. I couldn't answer people when they asked what I wanted. And I kind of lost myself doing that.

Honestly, I still think that he was/is in ego-mode. Sure, he might have had some mystical/"enlightenment experiences" etc., but probably hasn't had the realisation of enlightenment. One of the biggest defence mechanisms of the illusory ego are feelings of depression, loneliness, not feeling connected/related to others etc. As someone who studies this subject, it seems very much like it. This video just reeks of a spiritual ego.

@Lordgavemeasign6 жыл бұрын
Sure it is. Yet, I'm not claiming enlightenment, am I? The spiritual ego is something you can't really "escape" from or skip over, on this journey.
@GrubKiller4366 жыл бұрын
Not saying your are, but my point is that your argument that he is egoic is invalid because you are coming from a place of judgment, that is, judging him... from a 7-minute video, no less. So is he coming from a place of ego? No one can say for sure. But your ego seems to answer that question.

With all due respect and love, it is impossible to be too enlightened. That is like saying you have too much love in your life. This guy lost touch with reality as a result of psychedelic abuse. Yes, it is possible to have an awakening experience with the use of psychedelics because it can quiet the mind to such an extent that you experience ego death, but in excess, it has the opposite effect in which the ego is magnified. This is what happened here. To all those on the spiritual path, do not let this misinformation scare you from the path of true enlightenment. There is nothing greater than genuine enlightenment. This, what this guy is referring to, is not enlightenment. It is psychosis. The line between the two is very thin.

im not any Buddha or monk, and im not an introspective indigo child but to me i think enlightenment comes from seeing everything for what it truly is: the world, yourself, expectations, failures, ideals and accepting all the goods and bad of it and coming to peace with it. Cause if your absolute peace with the universe nothing on earth can really phase you.
@burgerqueen16333 жыл бұрын
There are no rules to enlightenment so stop judging him. Stop calling him "mislead", he knows himself the best, and not random people. "Enlightenment" is different for everyone, we all are unique. He's just a guy sharing his thoughts. ❤

No, he means portentous. Done in a pompously or overly solemn manner so as to impress. And I agree, that's exactly the impression I got from this video.
@kat0in0the0hat06 жыл бұрын
I think part of the point of the production is showcasing a lack of values, and being lost at a certain plane of consciousness. I don't think only 'angsty teens' identify with that disconnection from reality and having to go back in - or perhaps it's only something you understand if you've been through it yourself.

I have a friend like this and we have very deep conversations about humanity. I've never tried any psychedelics but he has, and he speaks fervently about a 4th dimension and how all things in this world are relative to each other. He says the ultimate goal of life is to continue integrating or growing so as not to experience entropy. It all seems very long-winded and doesn't make sense at first but it makes a lot of sense if you put it into the perspective of your own experiences. I feel like this guy definitely shares the sentiment.
