At the end of the day when it comes to the landscaping company, yea they didn't have any markings and look amature you started the same way with your pressure washing business. We all started with no markings until we learned how to build our brand. And we still learning. But you do display what you know, when you talk about it.

I started factoring in “owner’s pay” to my cost and it has revolutionized my profit. If I’m the one doing the work, I figure an hourly rate, because I’m the employee at that time. Then I get 50% gross on top of that and start there

What about a multiplier for being 3story heighten and additional chems? )540’x32’ = over 17k sqft) outside only 🤷♂️ not including interior walls of breezeways, as well as if they expect front sidewalks, ceilings (and god forbid) those balconies to be included? (I may have missed that part tho). Definitely wanna check their budget and be very specific on details or you may be lower than needed. Hope it comes out even better in your favor at the final. Let us know how it turns out! ✌️

You can add your individual flow to your estimates everybody got their own things what's important or what means to them or what matters to the most so everybody estimate do and yours if you in in this situation could include that
@javiermejia271611 ай бұрын
I was thinking of that too, if essentially you bid driveways and sidewalks it by square footage, wouldn’t you do the same with the walls? Since they are 3 times higher or just multiple the sqft of one building by 3 ?

I'm starting to dip my toe into commercial jobs and it seems like the budgets they have are just super unrealistic for me to bother working for. I had a 26,000 sq ft parking lot and they said my budget at .15 was outrageous and they had a budget of 1000 lol

Btw kudos on filming yourself meeting with the property managers, I’m currently a Sales Manager for a very large RV dealer and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a season vet or a fresh green pea, it is nerve racking to try and sell with being recorded. Good job 👍 Another great video or series would be filming some incoming/outgoing sales calls on jobs you land and showing some that you miss. It’s important for the new guys to learn that even the best in the business do not have a 100% close rate.

Hey Austin, I have a question for you when you measure the total square footage of a building do you take in consideration that it is three stories high. Because I see in the video you just measured the outside square footage. How does that work ? Or does it matter it’s three stories high ? Thanks bro
@xReLentLessx Жыл бұрын
he added 2500 ft in to cover the 3 stories as a guesstimate.
@ExteriorCleaning4Real Жыл бұрын
The way I do it is measure out the circumference of the building and multiply that by the height of the building. If the building is 100’ around and 12’ high then it equals 1,200 sqft of siding to wash. Keep in mind that exterior height is normally higher than interior (causeway) height. So if you are washing causeway walls then factor that height into the equation.

Great video, I literally do the same thing when pricing commercial work. It’s hard to land them at a price where it’s worth your time and effort. Had a company wanting a 39000 sq ft 3 story building with a 4.5k budget. Yeah no thanks I’d be about 2.5-3x the cost of that I’ll keep my truck parked.
@SmokingCzar Жыл бұрын
When you factored in the costs: You calculated the chemicals, gas, and taxes per day when it was for the entire job. It should have been separate from the amount you need to pay an employee per day. So you will make more than what you calculated. per/day and per/job are two separate numbers since you don't pay $500 each per day for gas & chems, nor $2734 per day for taxes - those are added after you calculate the employee cost per day.

Hey Austin another great video. Just wanted to let you know that the 109665 number that you're using is the total flat surface area of all buildings combined including rooms offices hallways etc etc When you measure with Google earth the way you did all you are calculating is total flat surface area of that building which you obviously can't be washing as most would be internals. Just thought I'd let you know. cheers Benedetto 🇮🇹 DownUnder
@AustinDavis242 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment! Yes I am aware of that. Everyone in the industry goes by the total square footage of the floor plan. So if the house is 2500 square-foot, we price based off that number.
@benedettococila14012 жыл бұрын
@Austin Davis yeah cool I was a little confused that's all I thought that you'd only calculate the surface area that was being cleaned Thanks for the info 👍

Just wondering if you ever got this job. I couldn't find any follow up videos. The closest one was a complex with raccoon problems that didn't look like the same complex. I really hope you didn't do this one because you shorted yourself in your calculations. Major flaw- Taking the length times width of the building the way you did gives you total square footage of a floor, or roof if you would have figured in slope etc. For the exterior walls you were doing, you should have taken length of each exterior wall times the height.
