Another interesting video, thank you. Your idea of sinking funds completely changed my perspective on paying for things about a year ago. Particularly things like car insurance, car service birthdays and Christmas. Its such a simple idea and takes so much stress away from the big bills that come around. I recommend everyone try to do it. Thanks for sharing!

Hello, lady! If my income is 100+ dollars does it make sense to create a LTD or LLC in UK? I don't want to create one but I don't have a choice because I'm living abroad and the only way to get paid by some companies is having a business in supported countries. UK & US are 2 of many supported countries. Also, if you have only 1 source of income but if in the near future you find another one, can you add that additional income to your existing LLC or LTD?

Good video. I would be interested in a video why u focus extra money on your mortgage when interest rates are so low. Thanks for all your efforts Sue 👍😀
@JenniferAMThomson2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue - great question - for me that extra 10% overpayment of the monthly amount every month is a token gesture rather than "doing the best for money returns". For me, the mindset of paying off over and above all our debts is important so we do it regardless of interest or even stock market potential returns.

Paying off the mortgage early is a great feeling, once its done it frees you up to invest in other things even risky stuff, the main thing is you own your house.

Great video, I'm getting married soon. My future wife earns roughly 4 X what I earn, she pays so much tax it's shocking to me. I pay very little because I'm only on £10 an hour in my full time job. I was wondering if her tax deductions would change after we're married, or if it doesn't change at all. Her tax per month is more than I make a month (which is a little embarrassing lol) she said it doesn't matter to her tho luckily. These videos are excellent 👍👌.
@JenniferAMThomson2 жыл бұрын
So there is a marriage allowance to move over some of allowances to help here - have a look on this website www.gov.uk/marriage-allowance. The great thing is that the amount we earn is no relation to the value we bring into a relationship, just set key goals and have a similar mindset to money and you will do great.

Another excellent video, thank you Jennifer. I am confused (and maybe very jealous) about a wee figure in there. Here in Glasgow, the cheapest council tax band, A, is £1200 per year. How do you manage to make a full annual payment of only £160? Is it for real? (If so, I want that!!!). Household outsourcing- oh my, I am totally stealing that idea. 👌🏼😃🏴
@JenniferAMThomson2 жыл бұрын
Great ask - it is a monthly sinking fund amount so £160*12 payments. We then use it to pay off our full council tax bill once a year (think we are around £2k from memory).
@mountainwoman17812 жыл бұрын
Ah, of course - my oversight! Thank you for clarifying, I was starting to consider moving to your neighbourhood to get that sweet deal, haha! I'm using your spreadsheet and it's the best.

@@JenniferAMThomson ha ha. Don’t worry. My spelling is also terrible. I am constantly using spell check at work. I like the video. I really need to make some time to learn about e toro. I was thinking of maybe starting a KZbin channel about my own financial journey over the last 5 or so years. Just for therapy really and to share what I’ve learnt so far. Basically we went from around £12k in consumer debt to a point where we are now buying our house. I’m a late starter in learning about money. I really didn’t start learning about how money works until around 6 or 7 years ago and I’m almost 38 now. Everyday is a journey and I’ve got my goals in life that I want to achieve but I would just like to say you inspire me. That's all well and good if you believe we are more than just brain and body, but that's literally what we are. Our personality is our brain, and there is no soul. Please don't bring your religious views into money. It's irrelevant.
@JenniferAMThomson2 жыл бұрын
I think our views on this world influence everything we do, including how we use money. Humans created money after all, so there must be a spiritual reason why we did this - using it as a way to exchange time and talents between us all. Perhaps one day we won't require it and simply can share everything we have with each other without lack or envy that someone else has more/less than what we have. Thank you for watching the video and for sharing your view.
