@AdastraRecordings yeah you got that right. People just see my music computer and say how much is that? I tell them the build price of 5k then the real cost of the VSTs, plug-ins for days, and other software that puts it in the 30k range. So yes my friend, only a producer can go this nuts lol. I used to tell my students if I ever questioned why I wasn't making any money in music I'd tell them you need to buy another plug in. That'd fix it

Saw your excellent video on VR vs flatscreen linked from here. Your point about having to use the mouse is very valid. PointCtrl is an absolute necessity imo for VR in DCS. No need to use the mouse anymore, takes away the biggest issue with VR. Makes it possible to change between different aircraft much easier. Unfortunately it's not readily available - one-man-band with a 2 year wait list. When mine stops working, I'll probably stop playing DCS.

@@theittyreportwhat setup do you have to be running dcs on 3 4k 120hz tvs?? my 3080ti would shit itself thinking about it😭
@theittyreport5 күн бұрын
@brunther it's actually 6 screens with the winwing MIP. But the 4090 does great pushing it out. Keep in mind the tvs just put out the signal so the graphics card doesn't really care where the pixels go. Like a water pump from a lake, the water could go through 1 pipe or 6, but it comes down to the pump to decide how much water can move not really where it goes. So I'm sure your card can run my setup fine. It would just be the resolution and frame rate that would be the issue. One last thing is DCS is really the weak point. It's frame rate is at best about 90fps so a monitor that has a 144hz refresh is totally overkill. 60hz you'd be OK with but the tvs in game mode at 120hz is the perfect balance for my setup. Now call of duty is a whole other thing.

@theittyreport6 күн бұрын
@radoslawbiernacki obviously the tvs don't move with the motion rig, but it doesn't matter much as I still get the sense of motion during flight. I used to have VR and a single monitor and it was fairly easy to do a swap to racing wheel as I have tons of racing games. But as the system expanded, it became impossible to alter it so now it's just a flight rig. Your mind fills in the rest. The motion is only 6" from center so in essence when you're doing a climb, you feel like you're on your back slightly but it's really subtle.
