Hi folks, in this video I'm going to show you how I built my homemade electric tadpole trike with a leaning front suspension. I built the trike back in the summer of 2020, but I didn't explain anything in the original build video so I thought I'd take the time to do that now while waiting for the last of the parts for the new street bike project to arrive. Thanks. Unfortunately, no. You need to use a separate controller for each motor, but they can all be connected to the same throttle. See QS Motor's car kits: siaecosys.aliexpress.com/store/group/E-Car-Motor-Kits/5881618_1000000630523.html

...this isn't really the most cost efficient approach for a full size car, though. You'll only get 48 kW, 12 kW per wheel. Unless you're driving something smaller than a Smart car, then I would avoid hub motors.

I love this! Great work and craftsmanship! May I ask are you using a BMS in your batteries and what brand and model? How do you tune your controllers can you share also a video on how to do them properly? I had experienced burning out my BMS and overheating of QS motors, tripping the vehicle specially in heavy load like driving in a snow.😢😢😢 i am also using kellys...

Thanks! Yes, always use a bms for lithium batteries, especially if there are multiple parallel connections between cells. This battery was provided by Grepow, I didn't build it. But I use Daly bms' for the batteries that I do build. Ant is good as well. Check out my channel for my buggy wiring video. I explain how I programmed the Kelly with an ME1616. I'll be doing it again with the current street bike build very soon in the next upload for that series, so make sure to subscribe and keep an eye out for it.

Battery was built by Grepow using pouch cells, no spot welder. I recommend kWeld for spot welding.

Held up a bit. Had to order new cells, Headways were testing too low in cap for their weight. Got some M50LT modules to replace them. Half the weight, twice the cap. Should finish testing the p groups by the end of the week. Slow going with the EBC A40L. But then it's just a matter of series connecting and building a case to hold it all in, then I can wire up the bike. Got 4" of ice on the roads atm though, so not really in a hurry to test drive. We'll have to settle for spinning the wheel up in the shop until spring arrives. But still loads to do in the meantime. Going to try powder coating the chassis and 3D printing the fairings once the electrical is out of the way, and 2 other bikes to get started too.
