Hey, thanks for checking out my video. I was using an Aerial rod made by Star. Medium heavy, Daiwa BG 3000 spooled with 15lb Power Pro braid. 20 lb Trilene XT green leader. 1/2oz bucktail. I'm not sponsored by any tackle company so I don't advertise on every video like so channels. I've seen videos with as much advertising as fishing. Boring! Good Luck this year!

What kind of trailer are you using?

It's a Zoom "split tail trailer". They're made for spinnerbaits and fresh water bass fishing. I know like them because they have little wind resistance, have a tough head section to stay on the hook, and good action. A little trick is to add some gulp juice to the bag ahead of season. Two fluke over 17" but under 18". One fluke 18 0r over. Stupid I know. Good Luck!

@@noboatrequired6895 Does seem kind of silly. I have always advocated for a slot limit in DE, but something like 18-22 to protect the breeders. 17-18 seems strange, as those fish are on the edge of maturity. If you know anything else now about the reasoning hit me back.

​@@fieldmarshalfidget6876Although I can't prove it, I heard from more than one person, that party boat Captains hired lobbyists to "persuade" lawmakers for the shorter limit to counter balance the high price of fuel trickling down to high prices to go out on a party boat. The shorter size limit let's party boat fisherman take home more fish for the $100 they pay to get on the boat. I can't see the shorter limit having any actual effect on "more breeding class fish being available" , the lawmakers claim. New York is four fish at 18.5in. just proving, in my opinion, there will be no impact on "breeding age class" numbers. Good Luck!

What time of the day is the best time to catch flukes or any fish for that matter?

Fluke, in my experience, are day time feeders. A few are caught at night, but the majority are caught after day break. Striped Bass and weakfish are more, low light and night feeders. That's why I fish for stripers early on my videos, then switch to fluke when the sun gets higher. Bluefish eat 24hrs a day if anything swims near them. I hope this helps.
