Holy multi tasking! Nice net handling while holding the rod (not dropping it on the ground) and taking good care of that set up. Those rod and reels are expensive and you take good care of them. I'm loving the videos. I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for us. Tight lines.

@@CookingandFishing Thank You so Much.....Your vids/techniques are a game changer! Conventional Techniques (high Low or Dragging gulp on a long leader) have you catching 20-30 Pancake size fluke before getting anything close to a keeper...Cant wait to put it in action. I assume there will be a learning curve....
@CookingandFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@josepharvizzigno4641 Haha thanks!! There is a learning curve but once it clicks, it clicks. And it's the same concept/feel for all types of jigging...from super finesse freshwater stuff to cod and tuna jigging - it's about being one with your jig at all times, and the ability to downsize your tackle when the situation calls for it. So if the Key Structure is a far cast from Shore (Channel Edge or Bar) would you upsize the jig head (3/8) and use a longer rod, like 8 ft so you can get the same action on the jig, but further off shore?
@CookingandFishing2 жыл бұрын
If that's how far you have to cast then yeah, a longer rod is probably necessary. In which case I recommend the JDM seabass rods like the Dialuna or Lunamis 96m etc.

Nice and tight the whole time, good stuff! Do you tend to have a preference of tides when doing this method or rather time of day?
@CookingandFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Tide is very location dependent...some spots produce better on the outgoing, others on the incoming...but usually the fish don't move very far. They just set up differently, and in our experience they almost never shut down entirely. Don't neglect dead high/low water either - some of our biggest fish comes at slack tide!

BS regs - if we keep any fluke it'll be over 18", and yes just one per trip if we keep any at all
@fishingguuru68882 жыл бұрын
@@CookingandFishing could you elaborate on why the slot regs are BS?
@CookingandFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@fishingguuru6888 There's not enough room here to explain all the reasons this is a terrible idea - first of all no one is stepping forward to claim responsibility for pushing through this option - it was not among the favored options throughout the hearing process, and last minute the board adopted it - putting all that effort into one year class is idiotic, a 1" slot is insanity and will lead to a ton of discard mortality and high grading. We've had plenty of days where finding a fluke under 18" was a chore, and for the most part we're fishing from shore. Guys fishing the Jersey reefs come July/August can go through days w/o seeing a 17" fish. I can go on and probably will in later videos/podcasts, but yeah we're not participating in this year's regs. A 17" fluke will always be a short in my book.
