Big grats on the shiny Wishmaker Jirachi man!! Just a few notes on this shiny because not many people know about this: - the shiny odds for this Jirachi specifically are 1/7,282 (due to a coding error) - Europe didn't get a Colo bonus disc. To compensate, GF gave out Jirachi through Pokemon Channel. This Channel Jirachi requires A FULL PLAYTHROUGH of Ruby/Sapphire for ONE check. Making it multiple hours for 1 check vs. "only" 10 minutes of the Wishmaker one. The Channel Jirachi therefore is the hardest shiny hunt of the entire franchise, if you do it fully legit and without save file corruption.

THANK YOU LOL THEY TOOK SO LONG TO COME HOME OMG looking back at this video i meant to write the 1/7282 odds for the script, but i just forgot. i even messed up the shiny odds at the beginning (shiny odds in emerald being 1/8192 not 8152) i wanted to reconcile these mistakes in a shiny mew video but since i got it in only like, 3 days its not nearly as impactful as this 3month long hunt so i wont be doing a video on that one mon in particular as for the hardest shiny, i can defo be convinced that the pokemon channel jirachi is harder than the bonus disc one, but i was going off of a few poketubers opinions, which was either the little wishmaker, or manaphy!

@@LeecarioAW honestly its hard to tell which is worse between channel jirachi and ranger manaphy. but personally id go for channel jirachi. manaphy may be one egg per cart but once you have one egg you can trade it an infinite ammount of times to get a shiny with each trade averaging 20 mins. meanwhile channel jirachi requires a full playthrough of ruby or saphire every attempt ( so 7-10 hours for a decent player) plus thanks to some weirdness with channels jirachi generation its odds are not 1/8000 like it should be, its quite a bit higher (i dont have the exact numbers) its a painful grind, one that ive spent the last 19 years doing off and on and still havent gotten....and with the bank closing date coming soon i fear i may never get it. (edit: got it finally)

specifically wishmaker jirachi shiny odds are actually 1/~7282! this was such a great video omg!! im currently shiny hunting jirachi right now! i think id also say the other hardest shiny to get is shiny manaphy egg in gen 4!

This one specifically is 1/7200, only 9 specific Jirachi from the Colosseum bonus can be shiny out of 65536 possible spreads

If you ever hunt this again there a separate method that drastically lowers the time required for this jirachi called the corruption method which basically turns it from 20 minutes a reset to 2 minutes resets since you don’t have to constantly reset the save from the very beginning every single time.

something really odd is happening for me. even though im corrupting a save, on restarting it keeps the data of the jirachi being saved. i saved like 3 or 4 times after getting pokedex, got the jirachi, soft reset, then corrupted, and somehow the jirachi is still staying saved.

the hacked sd card only activates the gameboy player so that i can stream my attempts. its only a cheaper alternative to using the disc that used to come with the gameboy player but now is sold separately for 100's of dollars. it does not in any way effect the chances of getting the shiny.
