Brooke, I will never stop being proud of how you and Jason are raising Mary Carl. She is so articulate and knowledgeable and confident. This is how children used to grow up before the destructive influences of the internet and social media addled their brains and shattered their innocence. Thank you for all the work you're doing to make sure your child becomes an adult of great character and clear thinking. We need more those.

I remember from my childhood my grandfather used to keep a plastic triangular shaped container in his kitchen sink. It had holes in the bottom so liquid could drain out. He would put potato and carrot peelings, onion and garlic skins, and any other fruit or vegetable parts in it. Every evening he would go to the compost box and dump it in. He then added a layer of old leaves. He would turn it over and show us all the worms.

Your channel is turning out to have a ton of teaching. I love it. The amount of different subjects is great. Yes it is mostly about farming but that is what Cog Hill is all about. MaryCarl is doing a fantastic job with her birds and making sure she stays on top of their health. I do believe she gets that from her wonderful parents. There are so many people out there that have children but really don't participate in all aspects of their lives. You are the exception to that. Not only do you have hands on teaching her, but you are also involved with all of her likes and you support her hobbies. She is very lucky to have the parents she has as well as you are lucky to have such an amazing daughter. Love to you all.

I needed this. We just got baby chicks this week and I feel like I’m doing it all wrong. 😆 I have been wanting chickens on the homestead for years and I have watched tons of KZbins and read all kinds of books and I feel like when it came down to the day we got them I was prepared. 😆😆 THEN MY BRAIN DUMPED ALL CHICKEN RAISING RELATED INFO OUT RIGHT AT THE LAST MINUTE. 😆 All all I could think was WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MARY CARL WHEN YOU NEED HER. 😊 I got in the tractor supply and there were SO MANY OPTIONS on food and brooders and this and that and I ALMOST PANICKED. 😳😂 We are all good as we speak but chicken math has already started in one week. We started with only wanting 4 and today we have 8 and IM IN TOTAL LOVE. Keep making these PLEASE AND THANK YOU. I HOPE YOUR WEEKEND IS BLESSED. 😊🙏🙏🙏💚🦋

Girl as much as you like babies you and Jason should adopt 3 or 4. You have a great place to raise them and Mary Carl is the perfect age to be a big help. I use the large pine shavings in my nest boxes, it's perfect and cheap. I change out the nesting material quite often and sprinkle in some food grade Diatomaceous earth and have never seen any creepy crawlers on my chickens.
