Funny story, a few days ago I asked a nun what must I do to be saved and get to heaven just to see her answer. She said all I have to do is be good, and do good works. I said oh really, what if I'm a muslim and dont believe in Jesus can I still go to heaven. She said yes. I quickly asked the Holy Spirit in my mind what I should respond to her. So I revealed to her that I was actually a former catholic and why i left. I mentioned John 14:6 to her, that jesus is the way the truth and the life, and is the only way to heaven. I also told her the bible says, he who hath the son hath life he who hath not the son hath not life. She heard what I said but ignored it, and said "it's not about Jesus". We talked more and ended on a good note, but my point was to show her how far removed catholics have become from the simple gospel. ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS! Jesus died for our sins so that we can go to heaven. We have to believe on him. Praise the Lord

@@brotherdj777well yeah I'm Catholic and believe in that too so I feel that particular nun is misguided. Of course everything is about Jesus and his crucifixion for our sins (hence why Catholics wear a crucifix as a reminder rather than an empty cross)

Such a lovely testimony. I too, had a fun but frustrating 20s (although I travelled a lot and lived in France for a couple of years). Also ended up getting married at 30. Then wanting a baby straigh away but having to wait until 35 before a little soul arrived. Now I am 61 with a wonderful husband and 2 gorgeous kids in their 20s so I guess God had a plan after all and I am content.

I got married at 33. Knew my husband for 10 years. I prayed for my future husband’s salvation as an act of faith. 30 days Mass. I finished it on May 10th which turned out to be our wedding day many years later. No I did not plan it that way, God did. I accidentally saw the date because I wrote it down and I was floored. I am the oldest and got married last. I wanted a baby since my sister was born, when I was 4. God said you will be the last to be married but the first to have a baby. God is so good! My brother and his wife wife tried to get pregnant for 5 years but they had to wait for me. I could go on and on…. God did so many wonderful things all of a sudden after many years of struggling.
@maggieprice3577 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh Heather!! I had such a similar experience with God but over something different. My husband was an unbeliever. I prayed and begged and sobbed to God in prayer to show my husband the truth of the Gospel and his need for a savior. I tried so hard to convince my husband of the truth, which often ended up in arguments. Finally after almost two years, I laid the desire to have spiritual unity with my husband on the cross and told God that I don't need my husband to be a believer for me to be fulfilled, He is enough. And if it is just me and Him, so be it. God also pointed me to where in scripture where we're told to lead our unbelieving spouses to Christ by living out our faith. Giving up that desire was the hardest thing I've ever had to do and was true dying to self for me. But God is so good and so faithful and now I know that that was a lesson He needed me to learn, to rely on Him and be fulfilled by Him. After I submitted to His will, things happened very quickly. My husband began seeking the Lord! So sometimes God holds off on answering our prayers because there are things he needs to show us first!

Hi! I am discerning religious life as I have felt a tug towards it for most of my life, and just recently have been experiencing a desire for a family (for the first time in my life! I'm in my late 20's, was always dating to feel loved, and I love babies, but never had a desire for a husband and children... or to be a mother!) I realize it's God restoring something in me that I didn't realize needed restoring. And this desire is great for religious life as well. So I decided with this newfound desire for a family, to search for vocation stories on marriage as I've been only listening to religious vocation stories. My goodness, I just want to thank you so much for sharing your vocation story. I have listened to your other videos on marriage, and wow thank you for talking about these things on a Catholic perspective! It has given me a peaceful outlook on marriage and family life. Please keep me in prayer. I am so thankful, and will keep you and your family in my daily prayers! May the Risen Lord bless you and your family always 😊

This is great, and gives me a lot of hope. It's terrific to hear you speak about your husband so highly - you're not gushing, but you seem like you are just assured and admire the man you married, which is how it should be. I hardly ever hear women talk about their husbands in that way, which I've always questioned. Anyway, thanks for this! God bless.

Thank you for sharing this. I have a very similar story of vocation - I also spent years, almost a decade searching instead of patiently waiting. The only deifference is that I did not date men, I "dated" religious orders - I did some profound research in various orders and I visited tons of them, asking the same question as you: Is this "my" order? Is this my home? And then....I met my husband :-) Love at first sight :-) So I have the same experience as you - if I could go back in time, I would not be so impatient and obsessed with the idea of "finding the right order". Instead, I could have focused on other things in my life - and just lived it. Anyway, I am thankful to God that HE has been patient with ME and that he gave me my wonderful husband.

I am finishing my last year of college to transfer and pursue my B.A in speech language pathology. (: I have my boyfriend, but not too sure if he is the one God wants me to marry. But I am taking it day by day and not too worried about my future since I live through my Catholic faith devoutly. You will be hated in many quarters and feared in others Monday, November 7th, 2011 @ 20:50 My beloved daughter, you must listen. As My prophecies unfold and when My Holy Word will begin to be accepted and listened to, you must be careful. You, My daughter, will be hated in many quarters and feared in others. My prophecies, which will be given to you, are to ensure that there will be no doubt in the minds of all My children that the promise of eternal salvation will at last be realized. My daughter, you will feel isolated, rejected, feared and will suffer harshly in My Name. Without your sacrifice, I could not fulfil My promise to save mankind, so that every soul is accorded the opportunity to benefit from their rightful inheritance. I call on My sacred servants to protect you, My daughter, for it will be their holy duty. In time they will understand what their role is. Meanwhile, I call on all My precious followers to pray for your protection against the evil forces, which are led by Satan, who want to destroy the world for their own gain. Be strong. Pray for protection and involve the help of My Blessed Mother at all times. Your Jesus Saviour and Redeemer of Mankind
