@Kevin.L_ 😂🙄 As much time as I spend editing out dead air, going for tools, etc... you would think I could learn to edit out my mistakes; I editing all my mistakes out once, and there wasn't anything left!! 😉 If you think that one was bad, wait until the MS461 first start... I outdo my own record of dumbness!! Hope all goes well for you and your family in the upcoming year too Kevin; be extra safe tonight!!

Mark, you got some good stuff! I really enjoy it. That’s a good idea on using the air vibrator on something like a turkey cooker. The only difference would be vibration only creates agitation, which wouldn’t be as thorough as an ultrasonic cleaner which uses sound waves that create microscopic bubbles on the surface of what’s being cleaned, which implode and loosen the matter. You can find ultrasonic units that can just be plugged in and dropped into a tub of water, which would give you the ultrasonic clean effect. With that being said, the air vibrator is still an awesome idea because micro agitation is the second best thing to ultrasonic waves. Another thing you can do for some intense agitation is strap and orbital sander to a 5 gallon bucket and hang the bucket from a rope. You always get the old hitchhiker from me, buddy👍🏼

@jonathanhensley8685 Thanks!! I had concerns if it would work; I assumed it wouldn't work as well, but sufficiently? Sonic makes sense; I sure like how sonic does; I used one at work since the time they cost @$1200 for one so small it would hardly fit a sidearm. I think we may try the drum/agitator at some point. Charlie told me that he used a paint can and DA dander in the same manner. Seems like I ***NEVER*** have an idea that someone else didn't have first!! Thanks for riding along; I always enjoy picking up hitchhikers instead of fighting lions!!

Seeing you use the siphon wand may have helped me finish a project thats been banging around in my head. Its cold here in the winter and I like to use a sandblast cabinet indoors to blow off/clean parts. Maybe I could use the siphon wand in the blast cabinet combined with some filtration and heat. Thanks for sharing.
@HayChaffandSawdust1
@HayChaffandSawdust1 3 күн бұрын
@TheGreasyShopRag I bet that would work just fine!! A cabinet would be great! I cut my hair just before cleaning the chainsaw; I knew I was going to need a shower after each, so I combined the hair-cut shower with the chainsaw-cleaning shower. I always look like a speckled pup after cleaning a saw. Thanks for coming along; I am anxious to see what you do with the idea/seed of the siphon and add to it!

Ah beauty! Great idea. I used to run a garden hose from the drain port on the hot water tank in the basement up the stairs and out the door. Cleaned my engine blocks that way. My wife wasn’t impressed. I guess that explains why she is now my ex-wife 😅

@MarkPrestwich-h6m I sure hate to "take sides" but sounds like you were a perfect gentleman 😇😇 and that SHE was just plain unreasonable!! You used a garden hose AND did it outside!! I know people that have done it INSIDE *and* in the bathtub... and their still married... I think you dodged a bullet on that one. 😉😉

I definitely like your method for pressure cleaning chainsaws. I have my power washer winterized and put away for the season and would not want to get it back out until spring. Hope those after-market parts work out well. Finding OEM parts for these older saws can be next to impossible. Have a blessed New year's Eve and New Year!

@user-ret-cde-ret Thanks Jim; it's cheaper and easier for me to use this; plus, I get to use warm/hot water and mix my own rate of soap. Diesel works well, too... makes me a little nervous though. I think AM will be a little short of OEM for power, but I can still get AM!! Hope you and your loved ones have a great year; be extra safe tonight!!

@matthewknight5641 I'll have to look for "Purple Power"; do you order yours or snatch some up locally?
@matthewknight5641
@matthewknight5641 2 күн бұрын
@HayChaffandSawdust1 I order mine from Amazon a gallon at a time. I use it for washing my camper and I've used it once for a saw that had pine sap all over it. I had to use gas and then the pure power on the pine sap but it made the saw look new almost and didn't hurt the plastics

@matthewknight5641 Good to know; a person never knows what kind of idea a simple conversation like ours will develop... I may get some and try it in my sawmill water tank; I usually use cheap dish soap to deter buildup of saw or creosote (depending upon what I'm sawing) on the blades. I use Pine-sol in my mill when sawing poles, but that may be better; THANKS again!! Man O Man, I *LOVE* it when people share ideas and information!!

@HayChaffandSawdust1 I was a dish soap fan until I got the first jug of purple power. I do like it better. it washes diesel fuel off my tanks pretty good also
@HayChaffandSawdust1
@HayChaffandSawdust1 22 сағат бұрын
@matthewknight5641 I like the fact that, if you're using it on your tanks, it's safe on aluminum; some stuff is too harsh on aluminum to suit me. From the looks of your rig (from what I can see), you take pride and there's not a 2 month old streak of spilled diesel and dirt down the side! Good enough recommendation for me!!

The monster vibratory gizmo has me in full suspenders! Does the spray suction hose work better or worse than the vevo? As always, great viewing. Thanks.
@HayChaffandSawdust1
@HayChaffandSawdust1 3 күн бұрын
@bigmoustacheal3295 I expect that the ultrasonic works better?? I have put some small plastics in the vevor, but it's a small one that will barely submerge a cylinder. For a hobby, I couldn't see yanking a chicken leg out of the kids' mouths just to buy something unnecessary. Aw heck, who am I kidding... I just like finding a way to do stuff cheaply, easily, and with stuff that's on-hand!! Sure hope you have a great new year!!

FYI: YT quarantined one of your comments the other day as "potentially offensive"; it happens from time to time while they see a word in the wrong context; I just have to hit the Okie Dokie button and answer... I accidentally deleted it. It wasn't nothing too important to you, but that's the reason I didn't answer. I fat fingered the mouse and accidentally removed instead of verifying that it was OK. Sorry about that!
