I did my first roof wash yesterday, it was my first and happened to be metal roof. It was really bad but decided to start with a low 1%. It got the job done! It was a 3900 sq ft home and only used 5 gallons of bleach. By the way scott i bought northstar soft was system for this job after watching your old video on it. This job basically paid for it and got some left over plus got the experience of roof wash, metal roof and an idea of how to play with the mix ratio. But will save up to buy a nice soft wash system from powerwash in Ft. Worth!

I believe you have put my mind to ease with your video I have been trying to figure out the best way to clean a metal roof the right way and how to keep it from oxidizing and what I am understanding is that it needs to be wet before applying any chem and no more then 2% is this correct and thank you for your time and video

Do you pre wet? I’m in Florida and worried about messing up the metal… I’ve been told to rinse rinse rinse and that’s what I did when I did my first one. But I will never walk a metal roof again. Would love to do it from ladder but I’m worried about rinsing. Do you use a 4% mix?

Voice overs are a nice touch. I am still in search of some place near my town (Eden, NC) which sells bulk SH. Closest I found was a 125 miles away. And then still is $2.40 a gallon. What google search phrase would you recommend to help find bulk SH closest location?

I would look up chemical plants. And start calling chemical companies. Even if they say no, ask them if they know anywhere where you can get what you are looking for.

I had at the time a switch valve. I just cracked it, released some air which allowed the prime

Idk what camera you have. But you can check to see if they have chest or head mounts. I got a chest mounted camera with water resistant case on it.

I've heard another guy on KZbin to stay away from them. The SH will ruined the coating and to prevent it you would have to rinse a whole lot more than normal. Very risky job from searching about it. I think coty at SE SoftWash mentioned it.

2.40 a gallon is very cheap. Here in Tennessee the cheapest is 3.00 a gallon I've seen it as high as 6.98 a gallon for 12.5%
