Hey I have the same engine and have fried ignition coils with medium pressure water. My builder suggested that you NEVER use high pressure water and to be careful around the coils

Yo pro tip from a Subaru owner, I found when I did this process I have to use a air gun to dry because sitting water on the bolts on the bottom of the car wash will start to make a surface rust. When I saw this I wanted to cry haha but it’s just a small thing to address. Just be cautious with sitting water :(

Man you braver than me I can honestly admit I do get skiddish spraying around the electronics, connectors, fuse box, hid ballast, etc. But then again I'm rocking the 02 bugeye and stuff isn't as fresh and sealed as yours but still nonetheless I keep it spotless. Just cover my air filter as well as my electric stuff. But good stuff my dude.

Should you worry about electrical component damage and corrosion from spraying water in the engine bay?

Everything there is designed to get wet. You would be surprised to see how soaked everything in there gets just from driving in the rain. The wheel wells and underbody are sealed off but plenty of water passes through the radiator. The fan slings it all over.

Excellent video. I’m in Canada and I like to use a light degreaser for my engine bay with a higher focus on the radiator/front mount intake area(where most of the toad spray goes). Question, would you consider heavier gauge sway bars and endlinks? I know you have coil overs but I notice most overlook the sway bars. They make a huge difference.

Just curious, what intake your using? 🤔 I just parked up a 2020 sti. Looking to do a small performance change. Any suggestions before grabbing an intake. I already put my HKS cat back exhaust that I was using on my 17 wrx on.

If you do a intake, you'll need a tune, so your little performance change will be much more costly ^__~ ~ A popular choice is the Cobb Intake since you can use there OTS tune by buying the access-port and flashing to stage 1+....however you will lose your I S S+ throttle response and the pedal will feel more like between I & S. I'd just keep it stock personally since the stock intake is very good. ^__^
