Im neck deep in Blender Octane and your channel is exactly what I need!! Did we just become best friends?!?! Anyway! Do you not need a "Normal Map" node when plugging in a normal texture into the universal shader? You went Normal Map -> right into the normal socket.... lol this would save me a lot of time if that's the case in Octane!

@@1polygonewithme The trick is adjusting the spread of the light (to make it harsh for instance) like in Cycles. Have you found a way to do that. I personally couldn't. Thank you

Hey man...I love your work. I'm new to Octane so go easy... Do you use the DB inport material option? It doesn't seem to work for me, when I try import a material it just freezes at 50% download.

Great tutorial! I have a question, is there any way to solo a texture (like Shift+Ctrl+LMB on any texture and directly see the texture in Cycles and Eevee) in Blender Octane?

In C4D Octane you select the node you want to solo and press D. Have you tried that?

Make sure you are in the Octane render engine, go to materials and it should show up, make sure you only have the texture and the output nodes selected, it will work with uv coordinate node that node seems to cross between both engines. I was wondering the same but it wasn't explained as to which engine you should be on to see the option.

Sorry but Octane is nothing but issues. Node Wrangler, not working, Material Converter, not working. Constant crashes.
