a few beginner tips here. Make sure if your trying to follow the tutorial directly you need to have your cube the same scale. his in the video is 100x100x100 if you have it much smaller it will be transparent and weird. also start with the principled bsdf then delete the principled node and add the volume node that way. that fixed my problems.

To addon to this, make sure your render engine is cycles, and you dont have to worry about any of the principled bsdf stuff. Was having trouble with this too lol

easy trick to animate the nebula: Go inside any Noise node and change the last Noise texture to 4D instead of 3D. Animate it with W value.

I think he is comparing CPU to RTX video cards (just for the sake of advertising the laptop). I would use always GPU for my renders (mine is an ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3090 24gb)...and I also have a 3790X 32 core threadripper... and 120gb ram. Peace.

Help! I cant figure out how to get the Noise 2 at 2:30 working. I dont know what node he used and I downloaded a .blend file meaning I could not import it. When I plug in the priciple volume to the volume the cube turns invisible.

I think the initial cube size matters a lot when copying his settings. He is scalling by 50, so the cube is 100 x 100 x 100 meters.

@asooo according to how you use it. for realistic renders, it takes a bunch of setups but many people can do it. Blenderguru has something about Arch-viz in Eevee, but personally I prefer it for non-realistic stuff. I use it for comic-cartoon style and let me tell you it looks quite great too.

This tutorial was awesome! One issue though, and it's that the second time I tried to make it the density node made my object disappear in rendered and texture views. I understand that it's probably a rookie misshap, but has anyone had the same issue and/or knows a fix for it?

make sure prinicpled volume node is attatched to the volume socket, second make sure that the math node is set to multiply sometimes that can slip by.

Once you download the file, open the blend you wanna use the nodes in, drag the blend file into the blend youre working on, click append, go to nodetree, and click the append node

or you can just copypaste the object from the Node file into your project and from there just copypcaste the nodes of one material, into the other one, and hide/delete the object. As usual, I bet there's even more ways to do it

you can actually go up to insane resolutions even on 1gb of vram, but be aware that actually saving the image is going to be quite laggy and give you a lot of blue circles as you freeze and un freeze, i got up to 6000x4000.

My scène is too small for my ship Is it possible to scale my nebula without having it to change shape/form .like à bake or something ..baking the Light would be great too .is it bigger for the gpu to rendre if it is bigger If it is the same nebula but scale up ? hmm make sure you turn up the clipping on your Camera to something like 1000. (necessary when working with large objects.)

soo i bought your patreon and got your nebula because i just could not get it to my liking and really wanted the planets in it. I went on vacation for 3 days and let it render but it only got through 11 frames... Gpu: rtx 3070 ryzen 5600x i just cant figure out how you got it to render soo fast as pls someone give me advice Edit: changing it to optix albedo auto denoise brought down render times, still not perfect but good enough

Take the samples down more, if you upped the Res at all you should be able to cut wayy back on the default sample render count using de-noising.
