True, thankfully in this case the swelling seems to have subsided after striking the nuts several times with a hammer. But your results may vary, consult your doctor first!

Has to be a General Motors thing? I cannot even believe anyone would use a 2 piece lugnut! Capped lug nuts where a since of "cheap" non-oem lug nuts that tire shops sold back in the day. I can not believe those craptastic pieces of junk are now so standard that they sell slightly oversized sockets for them!

GM and Dodge are both bad about this in my experience. Crazy how a company can build cars for 100 years and then somehow doesn't know how to make a reliable lug nut of all things.
