for anyone wondering about the squash and stretch: change the horizontal and/or vertical scale of the sprite at jump key press, reset the scale(s), check for vertical collision and change them again when player touches ground.

I actually set is all up as a function so you can call it more than just on the jump. Also ways to make it hold for falls.

I agree, tuts are hard to create because they require a bunch of testing to make sure people will be able to follow them correctly. I had to do it once for my interface development class in college and I worked really hard on it. Thought I had it all planned out perfectly. When it came time to present; out of a class of 30, only three people were able to follow along correctly. Thankfully one of them was the professor himself so I got a good grade on it after all. This was really helpful nonetheless. I am just starting my journey into pixel art after a decade of traditional digital painting.

You mentioned your WACOM BOARD... Can you recommend a Mid to high level one? I used to make games with Construct wayyyyyyy back in the day and I see I was doing it the hard way.
