I don't practice witchcraft, but I love your channel and actually used this video and some others to help me deepen and create more intuitive/intentional habits in my prayer practice, plus start a lil prayer book/journaling along with bible readings. So thank you! We may have different beliefs, but there's no reason we can't take something from each other and let it help our own practices

Christians really been doing this for centuries though, think about it. Taking pagan practices and turning them christianized, all Christian holidays are based off of pagan holidays, Christmas, Easter, all saints day, lent, advent, saint Patrick's, valentines, etc. Etc.

It’s a good way to do it. Especially when you are left handed. I have tried numerous times to write calligraphy but most styles are difficult and uncomfortable for lefties. I just write what I want in a word document on my iPad, set it to whatever font I like, then trace over it. 👍😄

I used to have such a hard time with my book of shadows because i felt like it needed to be perfect , but i started making the pages in google docs first to kind of plan out what i want to write and draw ahead of time. it def helped. i also made a rule for myself that i will NEVER show ANYONE my bos, that way my perfectionism doesnt take over!

@@kittyrosefaerie7464 that’s what I’m doing for my herbalism journal. I want a separate journal that’s dedicated to herbalism and a journal for general witchcraft findings etc. The BOS type of journal isn’t all perfect and cutesy like I want, but my herbalism journal is because I’m not free writing it lol. I pull up a word doc and have a general outline I got from her and draw out the illustrations and take what I typed and fit around my art. It’s also a black paper journal so I get to write in silver and white! It’s so pretty!

I love how you did it so you can add and remove pages/ reorder them. This is something I was thinking about when deciding how to organize my stuff. I literally just have a box of loose paper ( at least its a pretty box with a key) with rituals and recipes written all over the place but I wanted to organize it better but couldn't find anything that fit what I wanted. It's funny because I made a "spell book/journal" when I was around 7 like this with tying the pages together. I had completely forgotten about it until this videos (so long ago lol). Thanks for sharing because you just totally brought some of my inner child inspiration back.

My book has always been in this older photo album with three rings . It had those hard photo pages with the clear sticky film , and I use those as dividers that get decorated heavily . It looks inconspicuous on my shelf , it has good vibes , and I can rearrange things as I need. I got mine from a thrift store, but they have alot of different styles on sites like amazon.

Yeah such a good idea. I originally wanted a spiral notebook book of shadows but ended up with a sweet leather tome. As a calligrapher, I am SO happy to see that you practice this also! You are doing a great job! The best ink I love that is a rich black is the Japanese Sumi ink. It bleeds the least and will give you beautiful lines. If you want to use handmade paper (cotton stock) you can spray it with hairspray prior to inking, and it will save your life and nibs.

Thank you so much for sharing! I made my own grimoire (I'm French so it's the name I use for it) with different types of paper so I could do watercolors as well as simple written-down information, and I bound it and stitched it by hand, with a hard cover and decorations serving as blessings and wards. I think a BOS/grimoire says so much about the witch and/or wiccan who uses it, so thank you for being willing to share some of it with us! I know that, with the way my practice is constructed and my personal believes held, I can't share everything from my grimoire, only snippets, so I always appreciate when other witches are brave enough to do share their own work. Lots of love from this Gallic witch.

I am not a witch at all. By chance I happened across your video. Your artwork has such beauty and is so enchanting it just drew me in. I really enjoyed watching your process for your book. Even the tools you use to do your artwork are so intriguing. I have never seen a pen nib like the one you are using. What type and brand is it? Just one more question--what brand of ink do you use, as well? Thank you for sharing your amazing talents. I also watched your Midsummer video on your other channel. It is lovely! Now, I'm subscribed to both of your channels.

The nib for the fountain pen that you use is very "Nice". I've not seen one like that before. Very, I guess 1800's ?. Nice to look at from out here. Peace :)
