2:00 Function AND Form...Bravo! Such is a gem of ideology that is unfortunately disappearing with the next generation of car designers. I hope they realize fake vents _worsen_ air flow. As now the air hits something fake, indents inwards and get's trapped inside those fake pockets and has to go around. So a car with fake vents would actually be faster...with just smoothed out body work in those regions instead.

This is one of the reasons I have developed a finer appreciation for GT cars today, as most of the sports cars have become too focused on aggression, windtunnel styling, and excess. GT cars aren't competing by those rules to the same degree, thus the design trends of GT cars tend to age more gracefully. I think many companies and designers could learn from the past 20 years of styling, and tone things down a bit, work back to that sweetspot in design approach that was common 10-15 years ago, and then build upon those same philosophies but with a modern and visionary mindset.

@aclancy1x4 жыл бұрын
He's actually correcting as he sketches the outline. You can see him working his lines over and over till he gets what he wants, especially in the front view of the car this is evident. So when it's filled with colour all the "throwaway" lines are covered (ie erased), revealing his near perfect final line. Check out how a graffiti artist starts and finishes a piece as just one example.
