I decided that I wanted a lace and panel paint job on my station wagon, so I picked up some rustoleum color shift paint from walmart and went for it. I think it turned out pretty ok.

You’re right if you don’t try and “fail”” you’ll never learn. Sucks when people want you to be perfect from the start. Looks way better than my first lace mess. But I learned

To prevent lifting/wrinkling I always spray some very light coats at first, especially between different paints.

Thanks for sharing your video. Painting is dealing with problems and learning how to prevent and resolve the problems after they occur. Reticulation can be caused for many reasons like silicone and other contaminants or even excessive thickness of the coating. I liked your work! Painting is a chemistry experiment, Have fun and enjoy, it’s suppose to be fun…

Off Gassing of the products is what caused the paint issue, pay close attention to the recoat times on the label. even though you had some problems, the final result is killer! Subscribed!

Sick job man. I've been custom painting houses for 8 years. Lines are the most important part. Just bought a 2000 expedition that needs the hood and roof done. I'll definitely be referencing this video. Great Work man. Can't wait to see what you do next!
@Clawson_customs
You did pretty good on that. I would like to see it in person.

I've had that crazing/crackling show up in one painted part I did. It was the flash time I waited more than the recommended time on the can.

Sometimes if u don’t let the paint completely dry then wet sand before the next paint application it will do that. I have had that happen 🫡
