I only use shampoo and conditioner in my locs. No need for any oils or styling products; however everyone's loc journey is different. 3yrs seeing this for the first time. Love it! I'm 2 yrs into my journey and for the last 2 months, I only use shampoo and conditioner. No products whatsoever and I wash my hair once a week. My scalp seems cleaner and not flaky and my shoulder length hair is lighter and fuller. I cover my hair with a silk cap at night occasionally spritz with a little water in the morning when I don't have to wear a hat. I like your advice and your locs are 🔥🔥🔥!

Thanks for sharing! I also found the products made specifically for locs did not work for me, so I switched back to my tried and true Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner. My hair loved it as a loose natural, and still loves it now that it’s loc’d!

I had sister Locs in the past. My mistake was allowing someone else to maintain my hair and causing breakage. Only because I saw your video I decided to loc again. I like your videos because after watching several other videos and using very few hair products I decided to restart my journey.

I agree about some of those "made for curly/natural " hair. They made my hair itch, dry, and even harder to detangle. My actual go to for my loos natural and I'm at 16inch or more straight but my curly pattern is TIGHT!!! LOL...my shampoo is herbal essence blue bottle.. conditioner is amazing for detangling... if I'm putting heat to my hair I may use creame of natural argan one. It seems to help with detangling but not as good as herbal essence... another great video!

I have watched like 3 for your videos already. I love you hair. I am thinking about starting my loc journey this week. I remember in one of your videos you said you didn't use a grid with your parts so did you just pull a little and start braiding, or how did you section out the braids. I am sure you have mentioned this lol but I'll keep watching to see if I see it in one of your videos too 😉

I started with somewhat of a grid when I installed the locs, but I felt like my hair looked entirely too thin with too much scalp showing, so I combined them, which destroyed any type of grid I had, which is what I was going for. My hair immediately began to look thicker without the grid.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what ufd is. But as I'm typing this, I'm sitting under a dryer. I've been drying my hair, since I had my locs, with no issue. I interloc, not twist. I really don't like to sleep on wet hair, so drying my hair is a must.

@@jessicaberhanu8619 No it does not, but I'm not sure if it's the conditioner I use that keeps my hair extremely soft and moisturized, or the color just doesn't dry it out. Either way, my hair is extremely soft and moisturized, and I've noticed no adverse effects of using the color. Remember that depositing color in the hair is a lot less damaging or drying as when you lighten the hair or lift the color.
