In this tutorial, I demonstrate how I edit an image in Lightroom. My order of events - meaning, what I do first, then second, then third, and so on.

Thanks Anthony. I start off a little differently by going to LENS CORECTIONS, then CROPPING and straightening and then pretty much the same as your work flow.

Great video as usual. Reds, yellows, blues....the boat image screams CALIBRATION > blue saturation slider +++ BAM! Those colours will really pop. For my workflow, I've moved the calibration panel directly below the tone panel. It's so powerful, it's the third thing I do after crop and tone. ..........but of course, we're all different and have different tastes, which is why photography is such a brilliant pastime 🤩

Very, very well done and helpful. Also a reminder, for me, of various available steps in Lightroom slip to the back of my mind. Peter

Thanks, Anthony, for an excellent explanation of your workflow! This was very helpful for me as a novice at post processing.

Another great video. I tend to flit about when I edit but I'm going to give this workflow a shot. It seems very logical. If you ever use the calibration panel at what stage would you go there? I find the blue calibration can help make things stand out sometimes. Thanks!

Excellent, informative, and helpful! A few notes/questions. 1) If I am using an external DeNoise/Sharpening application, I always crop after using the tool in case I want a different crop at a later date. 2) Lightroom sets a default Sharpen Amount and Color noise reduction when I import images (same as yours). I find I get best results turning Sharpen Amount to 0, but leave color noise reduction before using external apps to sharpen or denoise. Sharpen Amount accentuates noise, making it harder for external apps to Denoise, while the external DeNoise process tends to smear uncorrected color noise creating odd colors, that are very hard to remove. You didn’t address color noise reduction in this video. 3) You mentioned Vibrance and Saturation three times in your process. At which point do you typically adjust those? 4) tip: you can duplicate a mask multiple times and reset each. You don’t have to redraw the mask if you want separate masks for sharpness, saturation, tone, etc.

Thanks Anthony. Very helpful. I’ll probably watch again and take notes on my own order. It makes me think though, can I arrange the order of the panel in LR like you can in Cap. One? Also, have you ever listed your KZbins in an order that would organize them as a course? Thanks so much. I would love to hear from you. Geoff

Excellent video, for the D850 second image, wouldn't you do the Lens Correction early on? before you send to second party software?

Thanks for sharing your work flow. Do you have a work flow when you need a basic processing for hundreds and over 1000 images for events. I know I can copy and paste or select multiples and adjust them. What i have seen if you autocorrect lighting it will process some say the first 20% and leave the rest alone. Also if autocorrect the horizon line it applies one correction for all the photos vs correcting for each photo. Last question is there a way to apply multiple preset on the same image. Or must a preset be built with every correction in one

Great video as always. I’m still a bit confused when I should do any third party plugins (DeNoise or Sharpen as an example). The first video you recommended sending it earlier in the process - after profile, highlights and shadows only. In the second video it appears to me you basically did all of your editing and then recommended using the third party noise reduction if needed. Can you clarify please?

I’m not sure when you made a video like this before but I think you did because I edit my photos almost exactly like you did in this video. I will add that sometimes I click “Auto” just to see how good or bad it is afterwards. What’s your opinion on using “Auto?”

Hi Anthony, I wonder if you can help me I'm trying to change my Backup in Lightroom to another external hard dive without losing all my photos. Every time I try to move it I lose my photos with means I then have to put them onto the new ex hard dive, which mean's when I go out I have to take both hard dive's with me. I hope you understand what I mean?

Crop/straighten...virtually the first step in the darkroom too. (For those playing at home, that means "film" to boomers or "analogue" as the millennials call it.)
