It’s great that your hubby encouraged you to go AND did it too….so supportive. Also good that you are now onto it.

For sure. Never too early to understand your body and how to keep it healthy.

I'm glad you went and did this. I need to just get up and do my own checkup. Cheers (with a glass of water) and ganbarou to healthier lifestyles!

You are vastly ahead of me in this and I'm so proud of you. Very much an inspiration.

My BP has always been pretty normal. When I was pregnant with my second son, I woke up one morning and didn’t feel very well. Figured I’d just take it slowly and it would be fine. I mentioned to my husband that I was feeling dizzy and the other symptoms I was having to which he said we’d call the NHS Advice Line. Because my answered then ticket all the boxes for stroke risk, they sent out an ambulance (like blue flashing lights and sirens!!). The ambulance arrived and at first they were surprised I was up and talking because they’d been told I was unconscious… the paramedics took my BP and it was 160/101. They decided I was going straight to the hospital to make sure that I wasn’t pre-eclampsic or anything like that. On the way I texted my Mum who replies that when my Grandma had her stroke, her BP was only fractionally higher. Thankfully my BP came down pretty quickly and after the usual tests like a urine test and being monitored, I was sent home again with a clean bill of health. Was told to come back if I felt ill again. I’d had a similar event in my first pregnancy but I think the maternity team had figured it was a fluke and it wouldn’t happen again… Fun times! Now I just have the ongoing “have you tried losing weight” response when I do go to the doctors… to the extent that I’d probably just put it off rather than go and ask for help now which drives my husband a little crazy…

I have white coat syndrome also and the docs are so much in a rush to Rx meds. I have to track my blood pressure at home also because of heart health history in my family.

My family also has a history of heart disease, so I completely understand. Good on you for keeping track of your body.

Interesting how training for a marathon can affect your kidney numbers. Can't wait to see what the results when you do your second test.

Yeah, it blew my mind when I found out about it. The body is magnificent and terrifying at the same time. It's magnifying.

the first step is to be aware (you did this, yay!) subsequently it's time to make progressive changes and the two ways to do so are dieting and exercise. Anyway, i vividly remember my pre-military enlistment health checkup... they made every guy pull their pants down
