This is my favorite your tanks and fish room has ever looked through all the years. I love all your set ups in every tank. The lights make the lighting in each tank more realistic. The black in the room makes every tank stand out. Just gorgeous. I’d love to do this in my house

A hardware store 😅 years ago gave me the best advice! They had a huge decorative tank...all sizes fish told me they fed 1x every 2 weeks! I experimented with my now 6 community tanks and comfortable feeding variety every 5 days. Been going well for many years! Looking to start goldfish tank. Understand to feed more. You're right... Type of fish matters as well as variety. Good info video thanks!

Father Fish was my lightbulb moment. He advocates for very minimal feeding. So now I feed three times a week or so. I only keep planted tanks and they harbor many microorganisms and natural algae. The fish will feed on these and it helps reduce maintenance time. I also feed a lot less algae wafers and the like to bottom feeders. The food you give to your other fish are consumed, digested, and released with most of the nutrients still in it and then your scavengers pick at that and consume it. As it is digested more and more it's broken down in the food web until it becomes more available for plants. Really cool how nature works. My cories are still looking plump and very active.

This def. gives me something to consider. Your exactly right though feeding is a way to interact and I do find myself feeding for that purpose. I am going to try the every other day with the larger fish and see how that goes.

Agree with all that Joey. Anyone running a canister filter will soon know if they are over feeding when they come to clean out the sludge. One thing I discovered by accident .... I feed my growing discus a beef heart mix so also feed that to juvenile Tetra's and Cory's occasionally. Just tiny amounts shaken up in a small container with tank water to break it up. Most of the time they spawn easily on that so no need for live food with the inherent risk. Keep up the good work. :-)

Love watching your vids mate they have definately given me new ideas with my set up With the ray tank the filter may need a media change. Just like a pool set up after a few years the media (sand/glass/etc) will start to soften or lose the sharp edges when this occurs it will cause improper filtration and cloudy water

My Uaru have laid eggs 4x now in my aquarium that also has severum and geos. They always eat their own eggs. I think because it's a community set up and protecting the eggs is stressful or maybe just not getting fertilized. I don't have space to do a Uaru only breeding tank but would love to do it. I've read they can lose their bond quite easily so might be something to consider if you move them. But it would be cool to see you give it a try. If you're successful maybe I'll find room lol. Great video!

Do you weigh the activity level of the fish? I feed my danios twice a day because they are in a very high flow aquarium that they love swimming directly in the flow of. Because od all that energy they use I feed them twice.
@NielsO-t3v
@NielsO-t3v 2 жыл бұрын
Fish from habitats with a lot of flow are mostly used to food scarcity and adapted to the flow. So you probably don't have to feed them twice. But if you keep the portions in check it should be fine.

Excellent video again!! How are the aratus when they show they are male and turn black, do they get along ? I have a bunch, I separated two males into my peacock tank and have two in my Mbuna tank with six female. I put my hand in the water and grab one when they fight and go in circles, it stops the fight, for a while... I have bumble bee too and I handle them too when I'm in there cleaning and not, they bite my finger, I pet there heads, they let me pick them up, and come back for more.

I have a 40 breeder with a solo electric blue acara. I feed him cut up shrimp twice a day or three very small meals a day. He unfortunately won't eat anything but frozen bloodworms, bladder snails, and cut up shrimp (he never has). I went on vacation this past December and left him without food for 6 days. He wouldn't even tough flakes or pellets when I came back. I'm considering trying to soak the flakes and pellets in the same container I have my cut up shrimp in.

I’ve had several arothron puffers who got along great with the other fish in the tank but as soon as it came to feeding time it didn’t matter. If the other fish had a chunk of food that the puffer wanted, the fish would have to drop it or else! I had several fish get rather large chunks taken out of them! They are definitely gluttons and come feeding time nothing else matters. I had a 300 with a 12” golden puffer and 10” clown trigger, most of the time the trigger was in charge but during feeding he would always submit to the golden.

Maybe you can get some tetras or a small rainbow or something in your apisto tank to give it more life. Just a little school of something plus some Cory's cats and or kuli loaches down at the bottom to help with that detritus.. and a splash of green maybe some jungle val.. Quite an excellent selection of tanks though good collection. Oh and a couple of Colombian shark cats for your brackish tank. And a large school of Apollo sharks in your stingray aquarium would be so dope.

I love your gallery & your variations in species of fish. I myself would love for you to do a Jack Dempsey tank. Your tanks look absolutely amazing my man. The piranha one...is still my fav. This video helped a lot. I am struggling with trying to get my black piranha to eat. I'm afraid I ruined him after he grew out of the juvenile period by giving him "feeder goldfish". After hearing horror stories about feeder goldfish, I'm trying frozen fish like cod, tilapia, perch, shrimp, etc. Not only can feeder goldfish be expensive but some days, I'd rather not leave the house and just go in my freezer just like you, let it thaw and drop it in the tank. In your opinion, should I starve him a few days and try the frozen fish again. I have a piece of squid that's been in there for over a day now. I'm about to take it out because clearly, he doesn't want it. Please let me know your suggestions, when you have a moment...but thanks for this video. You're a monster with this fish game.

Tetra mini granules, tetra pro color crisps, different brand catfish pellets, different brand flake, I add half an algae wafer occasionally although only one of the tanks eat it. Frozen blood worm once a week usually the day before I plan a water change. When I do a water change every 7-10-14 days I don't feed them the day after and occasionally I skip a day maybe once a week or every 2 weeks. I have all small fish platys, rummynose tetra, ember tetra, honey gourami, corydoras, bristlenose and nerite snails although they don't eat anything except algae, i've never seen them try and eat any other type of food.

I absolutely love your gallery!!! I’ve only had a tank for about a year now and it actually started as a tank for my red eared slider and I ended up adding fish. He hasn’t eaten any of them so I just keep branching out. I currently have two black angels, four pearl danios, four tuxedo mollies, 3 Dalmatian mollies, two neon tetras, and too many panda corydoras to count. I started with 4 and they keep breeding like crazy. What do you do with them? I feel like the tank is getting crowded. It’s a 55 gallon with all of those fish and a one year old turtle but idk what to do with the extra fish? Do you give them away? Do I need to get another tank? Also, after watching this video I’m pretty sure I’m way over feeding my fish lol. I just assumed that any extra food would be consumed by all of the corydoras but the water is pretty cloudy even though I’m running a fluval fx4 on a 55 gallon tank. It has always been a dream of mine to have stingrays. I absolutely love them. They’re gorgeous and adorable.

Hey! Not commented before but after watching this video, I had been meaning to do so. Sadly, I expect my comment will dissappear at the bottom but hey; worth a shot. So, I'm curious about your thoughts and experience with feeding preds and Thiaminase/vitamin B. I regularly feed my preds with a mix of dry and frozen foods, including prawns/shrimp and Mussels but its been drummed into me that these foods are high in Thiaminase and therefore, low in vitamin B. I note you use these foods, possibly exclusively with your rays and Asian Aro, which made me curious; based on the nutritional problems with comonly available frozen foods, what do you do if your fish only accept frozen?

You may have already made a video like this but I’d be interested in a video showing what qualities make a good Flowerhorn or Arowana or what to look for health wise, deformities, etc. when purchasing these kinds of fish

I feed my five baby oscars with shrimp, mussel and pellets. Do you think that is good and do you think I will be able to have the same variation of food if I were to buy a silver arowana? Love all the content my guy, you’ve helped me a lot ❤️

I have had freshwater and saltwater and I have learned to let the fish tell me what they need but for the most part I feed a mix of pellets,algae and flakes I have frozen foods but my fish don’t really go for it that much and most of it ends up going in the filter. And I feed every other day
