Hmm, doesn’t seem like much fresh vegetables and fruits for a month! Also would like to see what the meal plan is like for the month and what is being eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner for me to believe this is viable and healthy. I spend £80 a month for a family of 5 and that includes all three meals a day and snacks for inbtween for all of us. We also consume far more fruit and veg.

Tbh I can see the dinners stretching for a whole month since she says she has a whole chicken, chicken thighs, 3 packets of mince, pasta etc already. She also has baking potatoes, eggs, tuna, bacon etc and could make jacket potatoes, omelette, bacon and eggs, fish cakes, soup, pasta bake with those things. If anything I would think it's all of the breakfast and lunch stuff that wouldn't last the month but she did say she has up to £100 for food.

How many children do you have? When we had 2 children we could get by on £30 a week, but now we have 3 and our eldest is 12 we have had to double the amount of meats and vegetables for each meal. That bag of scampi would only feed my youngest 2 who are 5 and 8, let alone our whole family.

Depends how much they eat and things along them lines my. Mum can feed the whole family me excluded as I live on my own for around the same price or less as she is very money wise and uses coupons and compares prices and makes sure discounts are really discounts as some shops spike prices for a short time then drop them back to original price this is we're most people go wrong I spend shit loads on shopping but I can afford it lol
@sezel63616 жыл бұрын
@@jgillylikesbudsalot7436 Yeah true with vouchers etc but the things she's brought isn't like ingredients you can make multiple meals out of. @@sezel6361 It could last (at least for dinners) but it depends what her plans are with it and how much of the extra things she has in the cupboard and freezer. Meals 1-3 Quiche (1 for each meal) 4-6 Pizzas 7 Scampi 8-12 Chicken (she says 10 chicken breasts makes 5 meals) 13-15 Mince (3 packs in the freezer, could make more than 3 meals) 16 Chicken thighs (freezer) 17-18 Whole chicken (freezer) 19-20 Omelette 21-22 Jacket Potatoes 23-25 Pasta bake (Tuna, cheese, bacon, ham) 26 Tuna fish cakes 27-28 Egg, chips beans/ bacon, egg, chips. The Red King there's nothing snobby about suggesting people increase their fruit and veg intake.... The recommended is 10 portions of fruit and veg per day!!
@daveclements97076 жыл бұрын
Holly Pusheen First of all 5 a day is perfectly fine. Obviously 10 is better but It's simply not realistic to have 10 portions of fruit and veg a day if money is tight and every penny counts. I think she has a very balanced shopping list with a bit of everything, especially for £80 a month.
@hollypusheen76516 жыл бұрын
There's money for treats so it can't be that tight. I don't exactly have money so I go to market for my fruit and veg when possible..... There's nothing unrealistic about it.
@chelseaskrr19586 жыл бұрын
Yes because it’s hard to, fresh fruit and veg is EXPENSIVE! She clearly can’t afford to buy much which is why she only spends £80 a MONTH at Aldi. I spend £100 a WEEK at Asda and my family manage our 5 a day, but when you’re a single parent it’s so much harder to pay for things , so she more than likely buys everything necessary (dinner food, lunch food, juice) cheaply and buys extra if they have a few pounds spare.
