So proud of you both, for how far you've come. There's been a lot of ups and downs, thanks for sharing them with us. It just shows you're a real couple, not all peaches and cream all the time. You can see how much you love each other. I think we're all pretty idealistic about relationships when we're young. I miss that part of me. I'm more careful now than I ever was, and I don't trust easily. You never know someone's true intentions. You really lucked out with her. I completely agree with your opinion that older people have the upper hand to a certain extent due to their long life experience. I think there could be so many red flags in age gap relationships on the grounds that there's an impalpable power imbalance between them because of their age. As you said, younger people are much more emotionally vulnerable than their older partners, which has a potential to deteriorate that relationship into an irreparable toxic relationship or even worse there could be a sort of subliminal gaslighting or anything like that. So I think you're really lucky to have someone who is a genuine, kind person like P in your life. Personally, as a girl who is only attracted to women who are much older than me, I have been thinking about this topic so deeply for my entire life. So it was really nice to hear some candid and earnest thoughts from someone who's been in an age gap relationship for 8 years.

It’s interesting because I feel the exact same way being with my girlfriend, who is only one year older than me. But still, the maturity level felt to me as if it was 20 years. So it doesn’t depend only on the age, but also on other things going on in your lives, e.g. someone starts working at 18, but the other one at 24 y.o., also childhood traumas can cause massive maturity level difference.

@@SadieP As a few others said, it’s a Thai series that came out in March. It’s about a lesbian age gap couple named Nueng and Anueng. They’re about 16 years apart, not 15 as others have said. (Nueng is 36 and Anueng is 20 when they met.) Not to spoil it too much, but let’s just say they had to overcome not only the stigma against same-sex relationships (homophobia) but their significant age difference when it came to dealing with Anueng’s family. Even Nueng wrestled with it sometimes. It does have a happy ending, that’s for sure. They remain partners for 16 years and counting. How they end up there is something I can’t tell you. Look up the channel Ninestar Studios if you and your wife want to watch it. It’s 12 episodes long, but each episode is broken up into 4 parts so it’ll be easy to choose how much you watch at any given time.
