PERFECT! 👍 glad you went more in depth. Your like me, I want to know exactly what plants are getting 👍 also Amazon does have used units for around about $25.00. I don't care if it's used. It's not me consuming the water. I'm guessing it's returned merchandise so they put a new filter back in and sell cheaper. I haven't so far gotten cheap filters from Amazon, yet🤞. Yea RO units have too much waste water. I can't see wasting 3 gallons like that to one gallon of good.🤷‍♀️ Thank you for the sweet sweet shout out! 😘

Thank YOU for showing my this when I was getting started! This has been a real life saver!! I will switch to RO at some point but not until I have my own place. Thanks for watching!! Happy growing my friend! 😊

@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore Hey not a problem 👌 it's been great for me too! I just don't think RO is as good. I mean what do ya do with the 3 gallons "bad" water it makes for the 1 gallon of good? Ya know? Seems really wasteful to me! 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for watching dear friend ❤

Thanks for reminding me to put my rain catching buckets outside. We are getting the bomb cyclone west coast rains.

What a marvelous idea! It is illegal to collect rain water here in my area … may have to try this as I am currently buying distilled water as well.

Wow, that’s gotta be a drag! I guess it makes sense but distilled gets expensive!! This has been a real life saver…. Definitely worth looking into! Thanks as always for watching! Happy growing Trish!

I used that system some years ago. It works perfekt, but is abit expensive. The higher start TDS is the shorter time the filter work. I did filter the rain water ( here it's abit dirty) and tap water have a high TDS ( 250+). Now i use a small mobile RO system, the only different is RO have "left over" water and Zero water not.

I am sure I’ll eventually swap over to RO but this has been a great way of doing it for the past couple years. It can get a little pricey if the water TFS goes high but typically it is still cheaper for me than buying distilled, so that was the main appeal! Thanks for watching! Happy growing! 😊

OMG. DC apartments are crazy small and expensive. Hauling water up the stairs might not be ideal either.

Your rain water is crap... Any metro area is. If your getting 0 PPMS your good. I use well water and after talking to professional growers here they said I'm fine with what I'm doing. If it's working for you go for it and keep doing what works.

"I'm sure there are differences scientifically" yes, Zero water is deionized, where r/o is not (unless it has an added D/I filter). That means any non ionic contaminants that are present in the water (certain dissolved organics and bacteria) are not removed, where these are removed through r/o filtration. R/O is cheaper but definitely more wasteful. A small R/O like I have that can be attached and detached from the faucet, is $50 and the replacement filters are $40, only needing to be replaced annually, and an added $10 a month in water (so it costs me roughly $13.50 a month). Also, you haven't turned on monetization?

@Wasn't Me geekpure 3 stage portable, and ordered a separate adapter for the line in to allow me to attach it to the faucet, rather than the main line. Hooks up to my laundry basin, I fill the bucket, then put it away in the closet.

I will look into the RO for my next place, for sure. Once I move and have more space/better facilities, sounds like a good option. Still hate the waste though….. I wonder what fun projects could be had from that?! 🤔

I use ro water as well,no problems. Blooming now a few of them. It IS a ro system for Aquarium,30 dollars... Tds...4ppm...I put It in bathroom and collect 5-10litres(10 orchids only but bonsai...as well) You throw off a few litres...a shame...but It works for me

@@beatrizcabrerizomurillas5601 thinking hard about switching on the spring. Does seem to be more cost efficient. It will all depend on where I end up moving and the faucet setup, I suppose. Thanks again for the info and for watching! 😊
