It was finally time for a little linen closet organisation. This hall closet was in regular use but it was cluttered. Not only was I storing sheets and towels, but also various other things that were getting in the way. Decluttering isn't a one and done, it's an ongoing process. Wherever you are in the process is great, even if that's just learning about it. We all also have different clutter thresholds. You know best what you are able to manage. Keep up the great work!

You’re definitely not alone! I definitely feel this, sistah- there was no way your story ended with shoes packed in the car. I have sympathy horror for you every time you tell us you’re *still* off meds. 💔 I suppose doctors absolutely should prioritize life-threatening problems for more urgent appointments, yet so many of them also don’t understand how much our functional quality of life is completely out the window off meds. My whole reason for totes and garbages in every room is that it keeps me from wandering off rather than coming back to the task I was doing. Even having Alexa turn on and off lights or drop in on another family member helps reduce these mini-transitions! FWIW, you seemed so tranquil and self-controlled today that I had been *certain* you had meds back!! Also FWIW my husband had challenges with blood pressure and they said they’d just increase blood pressure meds (or heart rate if needed) rather than take away his ADHD meds. The non-ADHD docs sometimes get really nervous but the ADHD doc should have plenty of options. ❤ Thank you so much for saying “Alexa” more quietly. I’m still certain one day I will open my fridge and find a completely random container of sourdough starter. And I shall raise my fists to the heavens and shriek “CAAAAASSSS!”🙃🤣

Throughout my decluttering journey, I have dubbed that magical "pull 100 things from a two foot square space" the "clown car effect". Sometimes I'm so amazed by it, I literally wander the house just muttering it to myself. 😅

My husband uses most of the attachment/accessories for our vacuum cleaner. I personally use only 2 or 3 of them but mostly just one. Wow! Great work! 😃👍🏼 And I love the scenes with Jovie. 🥰

We changed mattress size and I was hanging onto sheets that did not fit it for no good reason beside "they might be useful and they're still perfectly good, I can't throw them away." Then a neighbor told me the womens' shelter takes bedding, so that was a big motivator, knowing the stuff will be used! I was just the other day noticing some extra pillows I'm hanging on to for similar "just in case" reasons in the linen closet. So this video was the nudge I needed.

And the professional clothes. I've got a pair of ballerina flats I bought when I used to work in an office. I've been hanging onto them for years despite the fact that I can't remember when I last wore them. They look almost new and are good quality. I've started to be strict with myself on a "one in, one out" shoe policy, and I'm super on the fence about keeping them. Maybe I'll reassign them to cosplay (which is a whole different ballgame when it comes to decluttering, given it's more hobby than wardrobe!)

Laura. I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner exactly like yours and yes, I have managed to tame it AND the attachments. I actually drilled holes in a wall for the vacuum holder thingy so the main machine plus 2 attachments hang up very neatly & so free up floor space. The remaining attachments I store in a small box; all quite neat. I use most of the attachments; even used the duster one recently for the first time & found it very good for dusting skirting boards, front door step and awkward PVC window & door channels.

I kept one dusting attachment because I also find it handy for skirting boards. 🙂 I used to have a vacuum cleaner where all the attachments were stored inside it. I dislike how these are just loose. Awkward to store.

I know that I have issues ha but I just want to say if it's not too late, I hope you will donate those attachments. People living with clutter problems and disorganization can lose them! Embarrassing but true! Anyway, I love it when you talk your way through your declutters because I need help thinking about things this way while I attempt my declutter. If you own and aren't renting the home. Adding an outlet to the closet isn't that expensive of an addition, especially if there is an outlet near - the other side of any of the walls. Would also add a little bonus if you own and intend to sell.

There's an outlet right outside the closet. Not a big deal for me now but just something I want to keep in mind for our future home if we decide to build.
