Hmm, I have noticed that the older Gen 3 called for 5W-20. I just bought a 2021 5.0 and it has 8000 miles. I just did the 3rd oil change and not tick. I think that the oil in the earlier ones have too thin oil. Just my opinion, but think about this: When an engine is new before the first oil change there is engine assembly lube which is thicker. Then when you drain it out and put 5W-20 it is thinner. Why did Ford change to 5W-30?

i have a 2012 gt that calls for 5w-20, i never really heard the tick that loud or that much but it was there, switched to 5w-30 and i heard it longer and more than i ever had, gonna hvae to try the ceratec

How is it running now? I've seen some people say this stuff can foul plugs, cause vehicles to start burning oil, and cover up sensors so they don't work (cam sensors). Is your Mustang running good still? I may be acquiring a Coyote soon myself. I am researching around at all possible future or possible past issues.

Joel Gastelum I tried it and it helped a little bit but the tick is still there. It gets worse as you drive it like yours. Mine is a 2011 F-150. It might be worth giving it a try. To my understanding it is rod knock and am now looking into replacing my rod bearings. Hope this helps.

@@linuxhelpresource the Gen 1 coyote isn’t supposed to tick just the Gen 3 coyote commonly does that. My Jean one coyote as smooth as silk you could hear the injectors a little bit that’s it my brother Gen 3 ticks

Man ran super tech 5W 30 with one quart Marvel mystery oil I have 90 4K fully modded zero problems

ot already hot a plasma coating in the inside of the cylinder. ot is BC of the piston slap and the pilot rings plus compression rings are lose, for increase mileage. I had it in a 2019 GT. I raced AMG and let the pmc kick me out of redline @ 8300 - 8500 r/m. After racing for 20 mins about 10 miles down the road going up a steep climb, my GT crapped out. I cracked the block. upgraded to the FHP Aluminator 5.0L 12:1 n/a no tick bc if the higher tensile strength oil rings and compression rings. LiquiMolly is just "snake oil" pitting a name aid on it. FORD HIGH PERFORMANCE Aluminator is a permanent solution with a billet oil pump. 😊

I just bought my GT 2020 and hear a rattle roughly around 2k RPMS it goes in Friday but you only hear this in gear right? And also I was told you have to do this at oil change sub track the amount of oil for this to equal out fluids

Yea I only hear the rattle while in gear. Whenever I'm in park I don't hear anything. I put all 8 quarts in plus the ceratec, but since you have a 2020 would be all 10 quarts

I found using aftermarket oil and filter caused sounds with my 13 f150. Stuck with Motorcraft oil and filter and it went away for now. The 5.4 was picky with filters and oil pressure. A ford mechanic told my buddy was the cause of his bad engine, cheap filters clog and restrict flow.

I have same i think it happens when you rev it a little and it is not a tick in time with engine its a rattle and yes i hear it in garage but outside not so much but if your driving near a wall or past another car you can! Ford told me its nothing to worry about but i took it to a performance shop and they put some stuff that looked like chocolate color and its really quieted it down! When you used to warm your stang up you can hear little single tick like noise that sounds like when you turn your car off after driving and the metal cooling makes those little kreek noises! Thats what mine souned like! I do feel that its possibe its actually not an issue as the coyote engines do make weird noises that are driven many years but its still a bad feeling! Mine is supercharged to! Can you still hear any little rattle here and there or is it completly gone! I thought it was exhorst to! But the computers in these cars are one of the best if any little problem occurs it will set engine light off! Thanks for vid !

Had the low rpm rattle since new. Heard the stories before buying so I sucked it up. After my second oil change at 10k miles is when this loud tick/knock started. Real loud at idle. It didn't do it until immediately after that second oil change. Took it in under warranty a couple days later and got the scripted line of "it's a normal characteristic of the engine." Ford will not fix it. Not a happy Mustang owner. My '04 4.6L felt like a much more solid car.

I made an update video on the tick. Long story short my job uses commercial ford trucks and they even have the tick. These trucks are driven daily and have 150,000-200,000 miles and still going strong. Starting to think the tick isn't causing failures but it's still embarrassing to hear

@@ThatGuy5.0 it's really embarrassing and made it difficult to be proud of my purchase. Some guys were able to get rid of most of the noises, rattles and clonking by modifying parts of the drive-train but I didn't feel I should have to do that to a brand new car; Could get an older model for a fraction of the price that won't make me nervous to drive.

Hey man thanks a lot for the video I just bought me a 5.0 mustang in December did my first oil change just like you and I heard it I was coming through a drive-thru getting some food and I heard that tick I could not believe it I changed my oil after 1,000 MI the very first oil change I knew that it could be a possibility I could get the same thing but I really like the car so decided to buy it anyway looking at your video I'm glad I still bought it I'll just use that solution you bought and I should be okay oh and another thing I was thinking about doing mods myself so you kind of answered a lot of my questions in one video what will happen if I do mods and how I should handle that thanks again for the video I love your video

Pretty sad. It's up to the customer to fix what Ford should. Why doesn't Ford fix this problem that has been going on for years. Who is making decisions at Ford. So many issues with the Ford mustang. But they still pump them out each year with the same problems. If you buy a mustang know what your getting yourself into.

Mustangs are such a piece of junk. I could put up with the engine tick, cheap plastic interior and glitchy electronics, but that crap Chinese manual 6 speed in the GT was the last straw for me! Sold the Mustang after 2 months! I bought a real car, with a quality transmission and couldn't be happier! No wonder Ford stopped making cars...I guess we should all be thankful for that!

That's the exact reason I went with an auto, that MT-82 is straight trash. The engine tick is also unacceptable, I love the car but having to pay extra money every oil change to hide the tick is garbage
