This can also happen to you without being pregnant. Found out this year that I had diastasis recti and I have never been pregnant. It explained a lot as to why my stomach would always look bloated despite all the ab workouts I did.

Hi Megan! Silent subscriber here 😅 I just had twins 5 1/2 months ago and had no idea this was a thing. I still had a tiny pouch but I thought it was normal. I did the test after I saw this video and felt a separation like you did. Thank you so much for this video! I’m going to talk to my OB and start on those breathing exercises. I love your videos btw, and watching your twins grow. They’re adorable 🥹🤍

It's so good to hear you were able to just switch to a new coach with no problems to fix your abs. I bought a prenatal program made by a pre/postnatal personal trainer, they collaborated with an OBGYN on the exercises and even breath work. Seeing videos like this make me feel I did the right thing investing in that program. ✨💖

The prenatal program comes with 9 months of workouts for throughout pregnancy a bunch of info on how your body changes, breath work, protect your core, educational videos even a 4 month trying to conceive workout to prepare you for your growing belly. I don't mean to sound like an infomercial I just really love this program. haha

Megan, it's because of you I know now what I've been contending with after giving birth to my son. I've always had a great physique, but the flat belly I once had turned pudgy after giving birth, and I couldn't understand why. After doing some more research, I know exactly what I have to do. With knowledge comes so much power and progress. Hugs to you and your beautiful family.🥰

Really helpful info for someone who plans to try to be a mom in the future :) I remember when I was a teen and my sister had her 2 kids and she had this happen from both being back to back pregnancies (1 year apart) and c-sections each time, and she just complained how she'll never lose the weight and pudge because of having c-sections. Knowing there are things to do to help your body recover with something as simple as breathing techniques is awesome!

Just incase anyone is reading this but these exercises don't help everyone. Sometimes this condition is so bad it actually requires surgery to fix. It is more common in multiple births but people can also get this after being pregnant with just one single child. Also multiple pregnancies over the years also weaken this further which makes it even harder to fix it by exercises.
@MrsMeganMoon
@MrsMeganMoon Жыл бұрын
Yes. Only a small percentage of people actually need surgery. Like almost 90 percent of women with diastasis recti can repair it with exercise I believe. It is pretty high the amount of people who can fix it naturally. And even if not completely healed it still helps and benefits everyone~
@FazzaL0ver
@FazzaL0ver Жыл бұрын
I also had diastasis recti after having twins as well as an incisional hernia that required surgery to be repaired. There is a greater likelihood of this occurring with twins. Moms who have twins should check for hernias because it may not just be diastasis recti.

I am one year postpartum after my third baby. I have a 4cm diastasis recti. I got a CT scan and everything. They measured 4 cm. I've seen 3 doctors and 4 physical therapists. Not one has suggested this breathing technique :') Nothing they have given me has worked. In fact, it got worse. I'm currently waiting on a surgery date to fix it, but oh boy it would be nice to not need surgery. I'm 100% going to try this! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the tip, I'll sure check my belly for this issue once the 6 weeks of mandatory post partum rest is done. My belly reduced it's size a looot after my c-section but not quite as much as I hoped for so it's good that I was a few months behind you with pregnancy and birth, I have a fitness lover going through the stages right before me 😅 all that aside congrats on still posting with 2 babies, I honestly have non idea how you manage🥰👏 I have only one baby and let me tell you my biggest accomplishment today so far is managing to drink yesterday's coffee and watching this video (tried playing it twice yesterday with no luck), only accomploshed because mom came to take care of the baby for a bit. Thank you for posting this, I had to come back to this because I've been having issues only with my belly going back to normal. I've had four children and my youngest is a year and a half. My separation was still two fingers of a gap, and so I've been doing stomach vacuums now and a few other workouts as well. So ladies don't forget that this can still be an issue with that little "fupa" pooch that you're trying to get rid of that just won't go away for some reason... Yeah it could be years that you had kids or may not have even had kids which blew my mind when I read up on the muscle separation. Again, thank you so much for doing this video!!!!! You're amazing and beautiful ❤️ been watching you for years 🥰

I have mine down to only one finger width left, having had two kids (NOT at the same time lol) and even with two abdominal surgeries to remove tumors. YES! I STILL use these exercises 💕

Woman, I love seeing those babies crawl all over the place with you. Let them babies be- I love it! You got it with the work out. I use to take fitness classes in college (those 1hr extra credit classes you needed to fill for 12 hr days to get student loans) and I took that class over and over- you and your coach are correct! Keep that breathing up exercising the inner-core muscles. Pain isn't gain- sometimes you just need to stretch and breath. ;)
