Thank you! Actually, I don't think it was meant to be hardcoded, rather it's likely a coding error and I actually think I know precisely why it works the way it does. I might explore my hypothesis further with some modding, then maybe report my findings somehow.

Yeah honestly, while it's a bit embarrassing I got myself into that situation in the first place, I'm actually rather pleased with how I managed to pull through anyway. And I've always wanted to be a cartoon villain so it's nice to hear I'm getting there!

God damn that was quite a show! Drama, plot twists, bets, failures and achieved goal at the end! The fact that you started from basically nothing and fought the entire world, changed the World Order and bring the justice makes it one of the best stories ever. Netflix should make a series out of it

Not a speedrun, but I once managed to form india starting as nepal (with tons of luck) basically starting games and attacking Tibet until china decides it isn't worth their time to help them. Then grab Bhutan and that's where i expected the run to stagnate, luckily Prussia and france pretty much destroyed the british army at that point so even this minor power like me could do them in. First went for bengal for the sweet sweet pops so i could build a bigger army, even if poorly equipped... Forming that india is absolutely insane once achieved, honestly more people should try it

Just to be clear that was ages ago, maybe that china not helping it's vassal around 5% of the time was patched at some point, i think it was patch 3.01

That sounds like a cool campaign! Nepal would be quite a bit harder than Panjab, but I guess that if you get lucky and Britain gets destroyed by other powers you might have relatively free reign in India, since the AI isn't very good at reinforcing across the ocean once their initial Indian troops are gone. Good job!

I had considered that, but the problem is that they can't appear in uncivs. So in order to do that at least one of the other Indian nations would have to westernize first, which would take too long. Unless I can find a way to help another nation westernize faster, but so far I haven't found a feasible way to do that.

That wouldn't have helped much unfortunately, because I still wouldn't be able to sign separate peace deals with the puppets and the Free Cultural Kin CB costs 30 warscore, so I would only have been able to get at most 3 puppets per war that way which is way too slow. So I would still need to make the puppets break through through rebels, and then annex them with the Establish Protectorate war goal for 10 infamy each, because you don't actually get any free CB to annex independent countries of your own culture group even with Nationalism and Imperialism. It's a nice thought though, and I'll admit I hadn't actually though about researching N&I at all while I did the run, but I have since concluded it wouldn't have made much difference anyway.

I have been trying new things in vanilla and I realized something this week. Belgium has French as accepted culture. I rushed mil techs and allied Brits. They didn't want to join the war at first but after I killed the French's starting army English accepted my invite to war. I don't remember if I did humiliate+take state or just take state but I got Normandy in my first war. French is unusually calm. I am not lying I have seen Waloonian nationalists(base culture) rise up but never French. I took Alsas and state next to it and the state next to Normandy. It was really fun. But because of my hubris I tried to "Form Burgundy" and attacked Germany and get oblitirated. It could be a fun challange to "replace French as Belgium" speedrun. Another interesting nation is Atjeh because they have Southern Chinese as Accepted Culture. The start is horrible but if you could do the Japan trick It could go smooth after that. I couldn't do it because I was too late and USA decleared war on me in Japan war because of sphering.

That sounds like a fun time! Replacing France with other countries that have French as accepted is classic pastime. Luxembourg into Germany is perhaps the ultimate version of this. Also didn't know about Atjeh having Chinese as accepted, that could be pretty strong for sure!

To play Atjeh you need to conquer Bali (for pop) and Johore (for money) before the netherlands. Both have also malay as primary culture so its impossible to them to make crisis. (Brunei is malay too but is better conquer them when you're civiliced) You will get enough soldiers to conquer Afghanistan or Ethiopia and after that just wait to westernize or conquer some uncivs to make it faster. I do this while playing as Bali because Bali have Moluccan as an accepted culture and they can turn all Indonesia into states something that even Java can't do. Atjeh has a better start than Bali so I think that this steps can help you with your objective.
