I have seen a Lynx in scotland, on the shores of Kinlochlevenabout twenty years ago while driving at night, I had two people in the car with me that confirmed it was a large cat also the guy and his wife driving the other way who pulled up next to me begging to know if I had seen it too, short stubby tail and tufts on ears clearly defined in headlights of oncomming car, about the size of a medium dog, it cleared the three quarters left of the road in one leap,,, amazing to see

As a child we stayed in the gatehouse of an estate at Newtonmore. I opened the shed door to get some firewood. When I opened the door a wildcat jumped at me and jumped over my shoulder. Not sure who was more terrified. We subsequently saw it on a few more occasions. I was 10 years old so 1976. I love your films and channel - and your passion and enthusiasm.

Typical for a cat. You probably were close to cats in the areas were they were supposed to be, but they heard you coming and left. Cats are so much easier to see if you can find a good spot and just wait. That Capercallie was probably guarding young or a mate hence chasing you off.

I swear i saw one when i was near culzean castle as a teenager, i was on the beach looking at caves and gullies and a cat jumped across a gap above me, and hissed at me, it also looked grumpy, i always told folk and no one believed me, perhaps it was just a domestic, but maybe not, it has that same look of distain in its eyes lol

only one i ever saw alive as a trainee gamekeeper was on glen prosen estate in angus ,caught in an underkeepers fox snare line round a sitka plantation . i was a 16yo trainee and i saw the underkeeper club it to death with a rotten branch and then was made to skin it so the head could be made into a snarling sporran . the head keeper who still works there i believe can easily be seen out shooting protected raptors and the underkeeper/beat keeper may have moved on but the crimes against raptors including owls, buzzards , otters will still be ongoing today .

5:48 - I’ve been trying to learn more about prints - my money is on some type of cat: - as you said, no obvious claw marks - u-shaped negative space in the print (rather than an a more x-shape for dogs/foxes) - one toe protrudes further - asymmetry Hard to pick out other features, like size of & lobes on the heel pad, due to melting

He didn't MEAN literally Britain's only wild cat. Like that was the only one. It's the only native wild species of cat in Britain, more like. Should of been clearer on that. Perhaps. So some people don't misunderstand.
