Hi Lauren, great that I found you. I needed to hear this. Im in the beginning of learning Illustrator, looking for my art style and try to learn to do patterns. I'd love to participate some day in a trade show. When you say you had 3 months to find you voice, you did 100 seamless pattern or just prints, that you print in paper? Can you please do a video more about how to organize your sketches and AIllustrator files with theme or collections? Are these designs were made in collections or just separate designs? You said you look for trends, where? You have before probably figure in which industry you're designs were good at? Or just general trends what is selling now? Or did you pick a theme like: kids, floral, fabric, stationery, paper, or did you do just 100 designs with different themes, anals, kitchen, kids, etc? I do not have a design background, but I'm looking forward to build a career in surface pattern design. Do you have put these designs in instagram, in website mit security code for possible art directors, or Print on Demand websites in order to promote your designs? When you said you develop your color palette, you move always between this 18-20 colors, with complementary, contrast colors? I heard a lot about being consistent and at the end of the day, a collection of designs should cohesive, and you said it too, can you please explain what does it mean, with cohesive?How do you decide which design, in which scale? In which format do you present you collections work? I need to present a collection in 2 weeks, need this type of answers. Thank you very much

Hi there! I typically track trends using Pinterest, subscribing to magazines, looking at runway, and snapping photos while in retail stores. Hope that helps! Tracking trends is always an ongoing process. :)
