How I get digital cards into spelltable and use OBS as a webcam and play games from moxfield

I find it strange how cEDH players tend to use this way and spell table in general instead of Cockatrice, untap, or Tabletop Simulator.

Cause untap is constantly laggy or doesn’t load your cards

Glad it helped. There have been updates to this system. You can just klick start virtual cam next to start recording.

I actually use OBS for paper spelltable games, to crop my webcam and add filters and such. super useful

Very comprehensive! I'm curious if there's any major differences between Virtual Cam and OBS's built in "Start Virtual Camera"? I was helping some friends set it up and saw that option, so I just had them use that. I don't know if anything is different with it (except autostarting).

I do a similar thing but share a single-player cockatrice game rather than moxfileld; as I think it's a nicer interface.

how do you handle searching? I want to use trice to play on spelltable with OBS, but the only downside I found is that the search would be revealed to opponents

@@Eliarbreton I use a local 2 player game so that there's an area of the screen not being captured, that I can use for searches and other hidden info

Seems legit. I should try it. We play in Tabletop Simulator usually, but playing directly from Moxfield allows to skip the part where you import the deck. Also. How do i show the number of cards in my hand and my grave's content? I mean, yes, the opponent can ask, and i can respond manually, but if he does, he will show me that his attention is focused on those zones, which can give me or other players a bit of extra information about his hand.

You can have a text in OBS where you write the number of cards you have in the hand at all time.

for some reason when i set the green screen color to grey and move the sliders it doesnt make the card bottom all the way black and makes the black border of the magic cards go away ive tried this a million times and cant get my cards to show up clean over the background i swear it didnt do this before

Okay I was able to open it and download it correctly but I get an error when I open "The following OBS plugins failed to load: obs-virtualoutput Please update o remove these plugins" so when I go to Spelltable and use OBS as my camera it says "We had trouble using your device" ....how can I fix this? Thank you

They have updated OBS a lot and the pluggin is not alredy added to the system. So try and reinstall OBS without getting virtual cam. There is a button close next to record.

Coulsnt you just put a block over your hand so the library, graveyard and exile zone are visible?

You can do that. But cards get really small if you don't zoom in.

All my creatures power and toughness disappear and is difficult for people to see. Any way to fix this?

I would guess it is some setting on your green screen that might be to hard. Try and tweek that.

You sure its not because the power and toughness show up in a black box on MOxfield and that is of similar color to the standard background on moxfield?@@cedhtv

How do you show your graveyard if asked? You should imprint an image on top of your hand and let the rest available for player's requests

Hopefully you see this. I am having issues getting trying to pick the windows. It will only select the windows that is currently being used not the specific one that i want. I followed your directions and even double checked. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or not. Do you have a solution to this issue?

Hello. Is there anyone who tried this on Mac? I'm following the tutorial step by step but there are options that are not available for me. For example, in Google Chrome when I go to Settings and write Hardware I don't get the "continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" option so I can't stream what I browse making it impossible to show Moxfield.

I was running into the same problem on Mac but then after restarting each app (chrome and obs) individually it worked. You can also try doing the same steps in a different order which worked for me

It is actually quite common that it dosen't work the first time. But after a few restarts it suddenly works. I have seen situations after 5 restarts it suddenly worked ...

So the recent obs update stops the virtual cam working. When I click on exeldros filter plug in it doesn't start a download and Idk if I'm being dumb but I can't seem to install the plugin

There is a new version that dont need virtual cam. It is inbuilt. This tutorial is a bit out of date. Try download the 28 version.
